Key fob batteries

Key fob batteries
I've been using energizer 2032's and the batteries in both fobs go dead in about 5 days I change them constantly. Are these bad batteries, should I use a different brand? Or are my fobs bad? Expiration on battiy pack says 2021 and there is no evidence of any buttons stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Never had to change the fob batteries in the fobs for my 2012 coupe. Had the coupe for 4 years.
GM says they should last about 3 years.
Sounds like you're either getting bad batteries when you buy them, or else something in your fobs are causing them to have a continuous live circuit.
Buy new batteries somewhere else besides where you bought the last ones.

I changed the batteries in my wife's Altima. They only lasted a few days. I took the fobs to the Nissan place and the guy in the parts center change them for free. He said the batteries that are not smooth on the negative side don't work very well. He put Interstate Batteries in and they work perfectly

Got to be something wrong with the FOB. My batteries last forever it almost seems.

I've had my C6 for nearly 13 years and have changed fob batteries three times. About four years works for me. I'd try another type of battery first but it sound's more serious than that. I think I use Energizer in mine.

Since you say Both fobs went dead after changing batteries in both..? There's no way Both fobs are bad, I'll bet you anything you got a bad pair of batteries! I've bought a pack of ten before and half were no good even with a ten year shelf life. New batteries from a different place will solve the problem!

I think I bought Rayovac batteries from Walmart. The key fobs quit working after a few days.. the voltage measured good on the batteries when the fobs quit working. The guy at the Nissan place says he has seen this before. Since he gave me the batteries for free I figured he was not trying to just sell me some more batteries.. I have not changed the batteries in my 2013 C6 yet.. but when I do they will not be Rayovac batteries

Make sure when you install the batteries that you do not touch the contact surface with your fingers. The oils from your fingers will degrade the battery very fast.

I bought off brand batteries for $3 for 10 batteries on line and they are now well over 5 years old and they last a couple of years before they start to fade in range.

I agree - if both FOBs go bad quickly, it’s near a 99% chance that both batteries are bad. FOB’s tolerate fresh water well, yet, not salt water. Look at your FOB’s contact surfaces for any corrosion. Like home smoke detectors, the FOB’s stainless steel spring contacts may have flattened out a bit and need to be pulled out (Slightly) for a firmer battery connection. I also use DeOxit Gold on my FOB’s terminals to help prevent corrosion, originally an anti-corrosive for high end audio connections.
