Kids Say The Darndest Things ...
Knowing how much my youngest granddaughter likes riding in grandpa's 'race car', I drove the Corvette to Vegas today to pick her up for the weekend. The drive back was great; good weather, light traffic, cruised at around 80-85 the whole way. At one point we started coming up on grey convertible Mustang, also in the left lane, doing about 65-70 with no vehicles in the right lane. As we got closer, my granddaughter asked me 'why isn't that ugly grey car moving over' ... I couldn't help but laugh and say some people just don't pay attention (she's only 7, so I got watch what I say). As we passed them, on the right, she said 'doesn't he know that if he's going to drive in the fast lane, he needs to get a faster car' ... now I'm laughing so hard it brought tears to my eyes and all I managed to choke out was 'I guess not'

It's a law here in Oklahoma starting in November.

Well, that explains a lot! I've noticed that my "mind set" changes drastically when I get into my Mustang convertible. Must have something to do with the change in the air down at the less exalted levels after having been in a Corvette. Or....it could be because you're deluding yourself with a sense of superiority. Ya think?

I don't think it's the brand of car, some people are just mindless.

In regards to both above, these are just two of the reasons more states need to make it a law and then enforce it, like Nevada, Utah and other's have done. In my experience and other's I've talked with the 'lack of consideration' is more prevalent with drivers from particular states (based on plates) versus make/mode of vehicle.

Great story!
When my Vette was still pretty new I was driving into a forest preserve parking lot & heard this tiny tot say to his dad "Look at THAT man's car!". Made my day.

At a friends house playing with his Mustang and a little girl, 5 or 6 maybe, asked him if she could look at my car. He said sure and told me what was going on. I went out to watch. She walked completely around the car three times checking it out, then complimented me on the car. I asked her if she would like to sit in it. She wanted to. As she was getting in her dad walked up. She was pretty excited. He explained that she has always been fascinated with cars and he was glad she was getting a chance to sit in the car. Will probably see her at Indy some day.
