For Those That Had An Accident And Repaired...
Guy pulled out in front of me at an intersection. Hit the brakes as fast and hard as I could but couldn't avoid a hit. No airbags went off and everyone was ok.
For those of you that had a similar situation did you repair and keep or sell? Any issues that you experienced? So lost as what to do now. Have to wait to see if it's even repairable. I love this car and it is exactly what I wanted. Wouldn't change a thing about it and after five years I still love it.

Wrecked my 2012 red coupe when another car ran into my car just in front of the driver's door. Trying to avoid an existing wreck in front of me.
No airbag deployed. Repair took 6.5 weeks because of waiting for a door from GM. Kept the car another 4 months after repair, until my wife saw a new red 2018 Equinox at the dealership when we went to pick up the Vette after an oil change. I'd been having 2 minor problems with the Vette, one started before the accident, one after the repair job. 4.5 years with the last C6 was enough. Traded it for the new Equinox.

If there's no frame damage, then it's just cosmetic. Plug and play parts, I wouldn't hesitate to have insurance fix the car to new specs with only GM parts and keep all documentation. IMHO.
Jk, but I does hurt at first bite.

First and most important glad everyone is ok. Secondly I understand the attachment we all have to our cars but that's all it is, a car. Get it fixed and drive it and if your that **** and it bothers you that it's no longer a pristine virgin then sell it and someone else will love and enjoy it. There are bigger things to fixate on than a little fender bender.

I'll echo post # 5
IMO, if it bothers you driving a collision repaired car...sell it now.
Plus, do your research on Carfax reporting, car rental reimbursement, diminished value and all that stuff if retaining the car.
Good luck in your decision.

I got rear ended. Had it repaired and still enjoying it today. I never had intentions to sell it, and still don't...so the re-sale value isn't a factor for me.
As long as the repairs are done right, no gremlins after, and it's not noticeable.. I would repair it again should another accident come along.

First, thankfully you are all right. Not my Corvette, but within a few months of buying my new Camaro SS, I was hit ... not once, but twice. It was fixed as good as new both times; 3 years plus later I have not had any mechanical, cosmetic or other issues. If it had been my Corvette, I would have done the same (got it fixed & kept it). That being said, if I'm ever involved in an accident where there is any type of frame damage at all, I would get it fixed and then sell it.

I was tboned at the left rear tire in my C5. Replaced left rear fender, the main tub, rear valance, rear wheel plus a lot of other stuff. All done by my dealer, Elco Chevrolet. Looked great, drove fine, and when I sold it, I revealed all the info to the buyer, no problem or drop in price on the sale.

As long as it didn't get into the frame you should be ok. Check the steering assembly really well as it might have gotten into it by the force upon the tire etc on that side.
Looks can be deceiving....mine below 2009 base convertible had over $16,000 damage to it, with frame damage and steering assembly. It ended up being totaled out by the insurance company.
Just be glad your not hurt. Cars can be replaced. I replaced mine with a 2011 GS Convertible

Thanks for the replies. Nice to see others were able to repair with no issues. Waiting to see what the insurance company says. I really would like to keep the car. Couple more pics.

The car will be fixed and look "good as new." And the "cooties" will be gone. After a few weeks, you will forget all about the accident. At least, that was my experience.

Some of these guys acting like this giant accident is no big deal and its not going to go on the Carfax as a major incident bolded in red... Honestly it depends on how much the damage costs are for it to be considered totaled or repairable but if you can I would get the insurance company to total it out and just buy a different one with the money they give you, whats the point in repairing a car that will be severely devalued because of an accident that wasn't your fault, it's just a pain in the long run when the time comes to sell the car not a lot of people will want to buy it..

I guess I'd chime back in and say that diminished value is definitely something you want to consider when dealing with your insurance company and should influence your decision to keep and repair or total it out. A carfax mark is pretty minor unless you're talking about a <10k mile show car and wouldn't scare away a lot of buyers. A salvage title is quite a bit different and nets you 20-30% less for resale if the car was repaired properly with OEM parts, significantly less if done poorly.
Obviously, I bought mine for a good price, fixed it up properly with OEM parts and will enjoy it knowing it will sell for less than a mint one when I upgrade to another Vette. There's a butt for every seat as they say.

Two ways of looking at it -
If it's a love you have for this base coupe, then yes repair it if you can do it yourself.
If it's a matter of economy and the ins co doesn't total it (bet they will) and it has to be repaired by a commercial shop, then absolutely not. A side impact like that (especially with the extra photo showing a cracked upper wishbone), takes an incredible toll on the steering geometry.
