Question about seat swap:
Hey guys,
I'm thinking about putting some 2006 Z06 seats in a 2013 C6. Will they fit? If not, what would be required to make them fit?
Thanks!
Brent

They'll fit. The seat frame is exactly the same.

There is a little difference in the seam pattern in the seat bottoms but really no noticeable difference in the seat feel.
I went from 2LT seats to 4LT seat with an Alcantera centers so that i what makes my 2012 seats feel even better.

I have swapped out my 2010 seat for the 2012 seats. The only real difference is the back of the seats are a little broader in the shoulder area so it feels a little better to me.

No, the side bolsters are supported the same. If you push on the seat when getting out, you will eventually damage either side bolster. If you slide your legs over the lower bolsters when getting out, you will wear them out.

No, but there is an aftermarket seat upgrade for 2011 and older (somewhere here on the forum) that has a little more dense seat foam that should wear better. Also, it helps to put some ballistic nylon fabric and jute padding between the foam and seat springs.

A plastic table placemat works just as well and can slip in under the wires without removing anything.

Are Z06 seats any different from base seats (other than the stitching or logos)?

While the frame fits just fine, be aware that the seatbelts are different. The metal part of the clasp and the opening size in the buckle are different sizes. You will either need to swap the seatbelts too, or keep the buckles from the original seat and put them on the new one. You also need to pay attention to electrical differences, i.e. power seats vs power seats with memory. You may have to swap the electrical harnesses between seats as well, but after all is said and done they will definitely work.

Do the 2006 seats have an airbag in the bolster? My 2013 2LT seats do. Don't know when that became standard or part of whatever option package, but it's something to check on.
As I recall, the 2006 Z passenger seat was manual...no power adjustments. If your friend intends to keep the power adjustability the 2013 came with, he'll either need to find a different seat rail assembly or reuse the one from his car.
