Default 2013 GS or 2014 Stingray?

For the last few months I have been shopping for a GS. However, The asking price of them seems to be around mid 30s to low 40s for a 2013. Recently I've noticed 2014 showing up in the high 30s to low 40s.
I don't really have a preference other than I want a newer car.
What would you guys recommend? Seems the C7 jump would be the right choice. I personally think these 2013 GS are overpriced.

Do you want a good looking car or one with modern electronics? The C6 GS IMHO is a much better looking car than any C7. However, the C6 dash and in particular the NAV look and function like something from the previous century.

I don't think 2013 GS are overpriced, they were expensive when new and there were not a lot of them made.

Wide body C6 looks FAR better than the Stingray. I personally would definitely go for the C6 GS.

If you honestly don't have a preference either way and just want a newer car, the Stingray would obviously be the way to go.

Best of luck either way!

I agree, but...the last year of a model run vs a year newer first year of a model run??? Nah.

GS is a better car than the base Stingray. It has more room in it too. First year of a model run also always has multiple issues.

I have driven them both. The C7 is a very nice car. Until recently I had not considered a C7 cause the price was hovering around 50k, but I've been noticing that they are starting to drop, especially on the 2014 models. I do like the wide body of the C6 GS sport better tho.

I just don't see a lot of GS selling at those prices. Just about all the ones listed on this forum, have been here for months or are on their 2nd or 3rd go around. The only ones that seems to sell are the ones that are priced right and those go quick.

I personally like the GS better than the C7 base. When looking at pricing you mentioned, you are likely comparing a loaded GS to a 1LT Stingray. You have to decide if you like the looks and larger interior of the GS or the better electronics and tigbter interior of tbe C7. I made my choice and don't regret getting my 4LT Centennial vert; I love it every time I get in it and start it up.

I agree. I would never get a first year model either, but it seems like his primary interest is a "newer" vehicle. The C6 doesn't make much sense in that regard. Again, I would go with a C6 GS no question over a Stingray.

And the engine. I'll take a LS3 over the 1st year LT1 any day, especially if it's hooked to an auto trans.

depends on your size also -- if you are a little guy as in 5'10" or so then the C7 may be a good fit for you - but if you are a big boy 6'3" or so then the Grandsport is an obvious choice.

I think I have to start doing some additional research on the C7.

The C7 is a hell of a car but I just can't imagine opening up the garage and having to look at this every day.

I have a friend that is 6'5". he would love to own one but he can't fit in them. I tried to stuff him in my C5. I would have had to cut his legs off at the knees to get him in.
