I fixed my horrible very bad roof creak!
I recently purchased a 2013 Grand Sport.
The prior owner had some duct tape bits on the roof latch areas that looked like crap so I removed them.
That's when it started.... Horrible creaking noises from the driver's side latch lever. And I do mean horrible.
Well.... I fixed it!
With the top removed, there are some silver metal shims in the clamping areas at the top of the windshield. One shim on each side, passenger and driver. There are a couple metal tabs that are bent around to hold each of them on.
Using a small flat blade screwdriver I un-bent the tabs and removed the shims. I then coated the back sides of them with dielectric silicone grease and reinstalled them, and re-pinched the tabs to secure them.
My drive into work this morning was absolutely 100% silent!! What a night and day difference in driving the car to have the cabin be totally creak free!
That was the only change I made. I did not apply lube anywhere else, or touch anything else so I know for sure it was movement between the shim and the car that was making all the creaking noises.

My driver's side creaks bad as well, even after re-torquing to specs and installing the o-rings that everyone does.

Nice job! This drove me crazy on my previous C6. It was a lot worse on the painted top than the transparent top too. Nothing I tried worked. At least I don't have to worry about this with the Z06.

Mine went away after doing a full cleaning - it came back within a month. I think next time im going to put on some brake anti-squeal compound.

Adding or replacing the rubber O ring on the pins with a thicker one helps mine.

Mine creaked bad also, all my pins were loose, added o rings, added the c clips, cleaned and lubed the weather strip, di electric grease on all pins, guides, slides, took the locking handles apart and lubed them, and finally adjusted the rear latch one turn tighter! Not a creak or squeak!!
