Not sure what 85h7 is, but you can go to your local auto parts store or wally world and buy a replacement battery. No need to go to dealer and pay too much $$$$. A battery is a battery. Just get one with the most CCA (cold cranking amps).

AutoZone worked for me. One was in it when I bought it so I got the same.

when you get a battery for a Grand Sport.... get the battery for a Z06. Most battery manufactures assume the base model and Grand Sport use the same battery.

Based on the C5 pcm location under the battery tray, I bought an AGM battery for it. Lots of stories of destroyed wiring and pcm's when the battery leaked.

Haven't checked the C6 yet to see if it is still the same.

They do. Why would they be different? Only reason might be if you have a manual GS with a dry sump. Other than that, same battery.

GS with dry sump has battery in the cabin vs in the engine bay. batteries in the cabin have a different venting system. This most likely applies to wet lead acid batteries. There is a chance that an AGM battery will be the same.

The OP said his car is a convertible so it will not have the dry sump oil system and his battery will be in the engine bay.

Should be a Group 90. There are only a few manufacturers for all those different brands you see out there.

Because of that, my criteria is ease of finding a place if I need to warranty it (ie: a nationwide chain) and then price.

If you have Advance Auto Parts stores around you, they have good discount codes when you buy online and pick up in store. SCW397 will get you $50 off purchase of $150 or more....makes it about 100 bucks for theirs.

My advice, make sure you clean the cables and have the right nuts to fasten the cables. Don't replace the OEM nuts with generic flat nuts.

I've had my C6 for nearly 13 years now and get five to six years out of the Delco. Price is about the same as the auto parts stores.
