2007 Z51 LS2 Corvette vs 2008 Z51 LS3 Corvette

Oh yeah. One other reason the LS2 is better than the LS3 "because I own an 05"
I wish I understood the argument. There is no doubt that buying something newer will most likely be improved, faster, better options etc... Maybe not by much but still improved.
It's the same argument I see between the C6 and C7 in general. The C7 guys say the car is better in every way. That might be hard for C6 guys to hear but it's true.
The only reason your vette is better then the latest/greatest offering is because that particular Vette happens to be right for you. No matter the model or year. That's why there are still people who own older generations.
I'll venture a guess that a good majority of people could afford just about any model/year Vette they wanted. They own what they own for their reasons. If it's not good enough, it's pretty easy to buy something else.
Enjoy what you have and if you don't, mod it/sell it and buy what you really want.

Safety Car
I bet there will only be about a car length difference.
Yes, there is a huge amount of C6s out there for sale some with LS2s and others with LS3s. I'm just saying to not limit yourself to only the LS3s because the engine performance between the two is so similar. When looking for a C6 corvette it ultimately comes down to these 4 things: mileage, color, transmission type, clean title.

Fixed it. I had copy/ pasted the LS3 times twice.
Data is data. I'm providing real world data. And that data says the LS3 cars are about 4-5MPH faster.
If you have some hard proof, real world data that says otherwise, then submit it. But saying you believe something based on no data holds no weight.
4-5mph in the 1/4 is a decent chunk. That's not coming down to the driver. That's mash the pedal to the floor and the LS3 car is walking away.
No one is saying to not be proud of your LS2 car like you stated in your OP. But Chevy put the LS3 in the Corvette, Camaro, etc and not the LS2 for a reason. If it was as negligible as you're implying, I highly doubt they would have dumped the R&D $ into it (which it isn't negligible because I provided real world data proving the LS3 is noticeably faster). Companies update their products to improve it, not to remain similar. This is the case for everything.

Of course we can never prove who and/or when the truth is being stretched, but lets face it...when men (boys) are talking cars theres always gonna be some embellishing going on.....been that way since they were racing chariots.....

Sounds like SOME LS2 owners are trying to justify their purchase, so be it. Just enjoy it.

LOL...my purchase needs no justification. I got exactly what I was looking for. Wanted a C-6 2006 or later. Only real requirement was had to be low mileage....had to be Victory red....had to be a vert. Since I know...well i'll just say a little bit about cars, I knew that the diff in an LS-2 and an LS-3 was minuscule, so that was not an issue. Bought the first C-6 I found that met all my requirements and the rest is history......

I would also like to state a three year run for the LS2 was surprising wish I would've waited 4 months to get the LS3

ZR1 and LS3
I think Gm had ZR1 well in devolpment and I bet that has something to do with the short run of the LS2 motors due to supercharging and warranty issues the same reason they didn't use the 427 therefore LS3 fits perfectly supercharging and making one hell of a motor that had reliability for the ZR1 that Gm didn't see fit for the Ls2.

LOL...funny you should mention that. I warned her before the purchase about what could/would happen to her hair when in a vert. Of course her response was...."OH...no big deal". Yea....right...uh huh. Now she wants to put the windows up when out driving. I stand pat though....lOL. Tell her we didn't buy a convertible to drive around with the !@#$%&* windows up !!!!!......

Serious question....are cathedral heads a positive or a negative in terms of power and performance of an engine? I have heard people argue both sides.
#119
Hi Randy, our friends over at SuperChevy did an extensive comparison between the two and found that the cathedral-port heads offered better low-speed power and produced peak torque lower than the LS3 heads (irrespective of cam choice).
