How big a factor is mileage for the C6?

162k miles - 2008 - LS3/LT4 - A6 - Fabulous DD, no problems at all. Both tops. Plan to roll over 300k before any major work. To date: Fuel tank replaced under warranty; 4 mag shocks replaced; radiator replaced; the usual tires/brakes. NPP with fuse removed. Want to do a transmission tune for crisper shifts. Heading to the Keys soon. Very Fun C6! - Buzz

If I had to do it all over again... Instead of my 09 Z51 MN6 with 62k miles at 25k ... I would have purchased a 125k mile car and saved 10k.... Hands Down and would have never looked back....

If it had regular oil changes and maintenance with no bad accident damage it might be a good choice. A 10 year old car should've also had 2 coolant changes( 1 every 5 years is what I do).

I think it depends as much on how you are going to use it. If it will be a DD, and rack up some miles, I would buy the higher mileage vehicle because it has already depreciated due to miles. If you buy a very low mileage vehicle, and put a lot of miles on it, you are going to take the hit for the miles.

Purchased new...I have an 08 z51 m6 with npp..the dam car with 116k miles is so good..I can't bring myself to sell it.
The car looks brand new. It's black on black in fact the last time I needed tires I put c7 z51 takeoffs on it and it looks amazing. People think the car is brand new...and it drives like new too..
This has been the most reliable vehicle I've owned in 40 years.
The car is so good...so sharp looking and such a wonderful performance vehicle I can't rationally sell it for what little it's worth ...
Top speed 190 mph. Zero to 60 mph 4 seconds, lateral cornering g s.. 1.0 , gas mileage 27 mpg on highway
Why bother selling ? The car is just been too good,
Amazing what a great job GM did with this sixth generation car.

OP if it was an 07 Chevrolet pickup with 65,000 miles you wouldn't be afraid to buy would you? A Corvette isn't a whole lot different as far as reliability.

Echoing what many have said. Use and mantenance history is the major factor. I would put more stock in a 10 yr old car with 100,000 miles that had the oil changed every 5000 miles and was a daily driver, vs the same 10 yr old car as a garage queen with 10,000 miles that had its oil changed every 5000 miles and was used as a weekend track car.
My '08 had 24K miles on it last January when I bought it. As its in-service date was Jan '09, that worked out to 3K/year, and it was one-owner and had a full dealer history. Also bought it from Carmax with a Maxcare warranty. Unless you get some kind of warranty I would get an independent PPI on any used car regardless of mileage.

That's as good as my 4 cyl Camry! This post and few others makes me feel a little better about finding my daily commuter. I drive 20,000 miles a year and I'm getting to the point where I need to drive something that I have always wanted. JSB to the rescue.

Enjoy yourself everyday driving the sports car that you want.
I used to have a daily driver and kept my corvette in the garage quite often. Then one day I realized wtf!
These cars are designed to be daily drivers ...as well as world class super stars on the track...
Ten years and I still get tons of thumbs up all the time...tons of people smile and tell me this corvette is awesome. It's all good and the best part is getting in the corvette with the NPp exhaust on start up...hahhaha I laugh every time...as I back out and drive off...life is good...life is what we make of it everyday.

I own a 2006 with 196,000 miles. I can't believe the car has that many miles on it. It was a one owner car I bought it a few years ago and have rarely driven it. It was a one owner car, an older gentleman so it was never abused. It was driven though. Still rides fantastic. Does not feel "worn out" at all.

Our 05 6 speed, Z51 convertible has 16K miles on it. Bought it 2 years ago with 13K. Other than changing out the perfectly good looking aged out tires and a couple of battery issues it has been flawless. Been kept indoors all it’s life and still has new car smell.

Why do you say this?
I don't recall reading about much more problems with the LS2.
Just rolled past 190,000 on my 07 LS2. Runs smooth, quiet and strong.
LG put on intake, headers and a tune just a few months after I bought it new.
Have there been a few problems? Yes but mostly minor ones. Oil pressure sending unit and auto light sensor both went out this year. Cheap easy fixes. Fuel pump replaced at 85,000 miles. Alt replaced at 99,000 miles. Thats it except for normal wear items.
Like said above there are the few problem cars but that happens in every model made.
With proper maintenance a high mileage C6 is nothing to worry about. I have seen low mikage C6s that were run hard and never maintained properly that would worry me more.

So true - congrats on driving your car!!

dont worry about the motor miles.....
worry about the "soft parts" miles.... seats.... brake/fuel/pcv/coolant lines.... suspension bushings.... fluid changes..... body seals.... window trim....
