Default Corvettes oh Houston Column Lock Eliminator

Seeking your thoughts and experience for those who have this installed. Pro, cons, problems after installation, worth it.....?

You mean an LMC5?

Every C5 owner has it, or spends time and huge bucks at a GM dealer.

Does the C6 have an idiotic malfunctioning column lock issue, as well?

Only for model year 2005.

OP would probably get more help if he posted in the C6 General forum, since he just bought a C6.

Title of this forum says Non-Corvette.

Gotcha.

That column lock is the dumbest thing ever. How it effects 8 years of Corvettes is insane. Whats even more insane is that it took a guy/company to develop an LMC5 to fix it; GM put band-aids on bullet wounds to "fix" it. The previous 2 owners of my C5 said each of them got locked out by that idiotic mechanism.

2005 C6's, from my understanding was the last year it was installed. I had the same problem when I had my C5.

I installed the one from kfn01 on ebay three years ago and have not had a column lock problem since. He was the original maker of these devices. From what I've heard his are more reliable than those from Corvette of Houston's ones.

Re calibrated window module assembly???? Isn't that closing the window and holding the button for 5 seconds then opening the window and holding the button for 5 seconds?

The window was not closed or rolled all the way up to close.

Not quite, if you're talking about resetting the window indexing, That involves closing the window and holding the UP button an extra 3 seconds. Then, without moving the window, hold the UP button again for 3 seconds. It's in the owner's manual.

May not be the same thing as what the dealership did.
