Man! I can see/feel my driver side seat bolster taking a beating everytime I get in and out of my Vette.

What do you guys do to minimize the stress on that left hand side seat bolster?

TIA

Left hand on the door, right hand on the steering wheel. Hold butt up until it's completely over the seat. No problem.

I back in butt first, swing legs in and then out first to get out. Easy on the back too.

Same as above. I also pro-actively did the drivers seat bottom upgrade to keep from destroying the foam. The kit also came with additional foam for the bolster. Seven years and my seat is doing fine.

I'm thinking of doing that as well before it gets bad. What kit did you go with?

Being towards the average/thin side helps.

This works for me too. If memory serves me correctly, this technique to get in and out of a car with the least tension on one's back was shown on 60 Minutes by Morley Safer or Andy Rooney. Pays to watch TV.

Getting in is easier for me (6'3"+ and 240 lbs) if I sit down and swing my legs in.
Getting out is simple. I open the door, lean over, put my hands on the ground and just fall out!

Model A's were much higher than corvettes.

I use a system of pulleys, levers, and ropes to lower myself into or raise myself out of the car.

I am not really sure, don't pay too much attention...haha.
My bolster is in great condition.

Computer easy access is on and tilt wheel placed into highest position.
Perhaps the door, sit on seat, swing legs in.
Egress, swing one leg out, place palm on qtr pnl dr handle cut out, arise.

I will note jeans/ denim will destroy the bolster quickly through the course friction of the materials.

Good luck...and jokingly drive nude.

It was as explained to me as sitting on the pot. Poke your butt out sit straight down then swing legs in. Just remember its not the pot.

Not sure why so many complain about this.

I don't have a young body (67) but getting in is no effort at all; getting out I put my left hand on the left side of the doorsill and use that to help push myself up. Seats have no wear.

In ten years, when I'm as old as Old BillyBoy from Pa., it might be a different story.

Same here, use my left palm on B pillar of door opening to guide me in and out. I make sure my azz doesn't contact left seat side, just the bottom. I'm not real big at 6'1 210, not a problem.

Getting in and out of a C4 was fun with the hurdle as the door sill, you literally fall in the car and have to climb out.

You old dog, you're only 3 years younger, but I still look better. We went out to eat last night the wife and I, and the waitress thought I was her father.

Well the wife is 13 years younger, but it's the first time I heard that. Getting old sucks, ask Bruce.
