Default 2008 base vs. 2013 GS traction control

I recently upgraded from a 2008 base auto to a 2013 GS manual and have noticed a huge difference in the way the traction control behaves. In my 08 the TC would cut power at the slightest amount of wheel spin, it would get annoying at times. But in the 13, it modulates power when there is wheel spin and does not cut power. It seems much more sophisticated. I think my car is stock, but I can never know for sure since I bought it used. Is this the way all 13s TC behaves, or does anyone think mine has been tuned?

It was updated in 2009 so all GS models will have the updated TC setup.

Mine is bone stock (13 GS). It allows a good deal of wheel spin at full throttle. Fishtailing and whatnot.

I have an 11 grandsprort and have never spun the tires. I have gotten on it on on ramps and it's never spun a tire. I have never reved it and dropped the clutch and tried. Not sure what would do. I have not driven it with the traction control turned off yet.

If you've never spun the tires on your Vette, then you've never really gotten on it. Don't have to drop the clutch to break the tires loose.

lol, I don't believe I have ever floored it but I had to have been close. I know that it pulls really good in 4th at 60 mph. Each time I have gotten on it I have been in 2nd running 25 mph on the on ramps.

The accelerator is drive by wire, so not connected to the throttle body directly, but through a computer. The throttle response is on a bell curve if you were to graph it, it is not a 1 to 1 relationship.

FWIW; With MPSS and a blower, my TC would allow quite a bit of wheel spin in 1st, 2nd and sometimes 3rd. It never cut power in a straight line. But would cut power if I threw it hard in to a turn and purposely broke the *** end loose...

Traction control is there for our (my lol) safety and ignorance. I click the button to turn off TC and step on gas and the tires do nothing but spin. But I'm definitely timid since last time I played with no TC it bit me in the ***.
