I got on the GS pretty hard today. Got it over 140 and the phone built into the car started ringing. Was that onstar?

Yes, there is a phone of sorts with OnStar. They can not only call you with a phone call from them or someone else. They can also look at your car's tire pressure and tell you what it is.

Doubtful that it was OnStar calling, although it is possible.

Thank you...I fully understand what Onstar is and how it works. Once again, there is no phone built into the car.

I had Onstar on my 2005 coupe for over 2 years and got a report once a month.

Sure there is. Call Onstar, buy the minutes and they give you a phone number. Push the hands free calling button on the left side of the steering wheel and make your calls. It goes like this: Push the hands free calling button and the voice says, Onstar hands free calling, say the name or number you wish to call, say the number and it dials it and connects you. I'll give you my Car telephone number if you like and you can call me in ten minutes and I will answer the phone IN MY CAR.

I've got OnStar in my Equinox, like I had in my C6. First phone call I got with OnStar in my car was a wrong number.

It was On-Star's automated attendant telling you that you have greatly exceeded the speed limit, and they are notifying local authorities...

Then you don't understand how it works. You don't pay for phone service, you don't get phone service.

I had 5 C6s. I had OnStar in all of them. I made 12-15 calls via OnStar IN MY CAR.

You have to pay OnStar extra for the phone minutes.
