Heading there this weekend for the first time. Wanted to take the vette, but my woman booked a night in hocking hills on the way home and don't think roads will be vette friendly. ...lol....so using her company car (free gas, milage, etc).


Anyway, any suggestions for the area?

I was there in April of this year but spent all the time at the museum, plant which is closed for tours now and on the track. The track is great and was worth the trip, You can pay to have one the museums drivers take you in their C6 Z06's for a few laps speeds hit between 140-160 mph, since you dont have your vette there to drive on the track you might consider that

Take the Vette. You will be glad you did. Run as many back roads as
you can. Isn't that why you bought the Vette? The Museum is wonderful
and there is a business across the street named Arts Corvettes and Muscle Cars that is well worth the price. ( about $8.00 ) Has probably 100 muscle cars and Vettes. Exit 22 has all the customary hotels and restaurants. Exit 28 I 65, is the Museum exit. It is about 60 miles to
Nashville Tn and it is 110 miles from Louisville Ky. Louisville has the
Kentucky Derby Museum at Churchill Downs, very reasonable admission and is good for about 3 hours. It is Awesome. The Hillerich and Bradsby
Louisville Slugger Museum in downtown Louisville is also very worthwhile and also about 2 hours. Full of baseball memorabilia from Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, Stan Musial, Ted Williams, Mickey Mantel, to todays heroes.
Enjoy your trip. This is a great time of year in the Ohio Valley.

On the way from pa, we have to swing through Cleveland to drop off 2 dogs...... then in way home , have to stop at Pitt university to drop off stuff for son at college. Can't fit anything in vert.

Original plan was to take the vette....the while point right? Lol. But she booked the hocking hills, and her son broke ankle (in Pitt ) and dog/house sitter cancelled .

We made the trip and really enjoyed the country side in KY,


The bourbon distilleries and neat, we went to Makers Mark and VERY NICE place. I wish we had tone to Buffalo Trace as well but I figure after you have seen one they are pretty much the same.

I really suggest the Corvette plant tour, honestly my Wife enjoyed the assembly plant more than the museum but it was first time she had ever seen any type of assembly work done in person .

If you have time Mammoth Cave National Park isn't too far from Bowling Green. It is pretty awesome. We go to the museum once a year for Vets n Vettes during the first week of November. Track Day, driving disabled veterans on the full road course in our Vettes, Veterans luncheon, Museum visit, plant visit (previous 2 years), massive road trip with Kentucky State Police escort, dinner at VFW and the Bowling Green Veteran's Day Parade on Saturday. A great time is had by all!!!

Hocking Hills is absolutely gorgeous. And if the leaves have started changing, you'll get some of the most beautiful pics of your car. TAKE THE VETTE!

Take the vette next year, but go see the museum. Once is not enough to see it all!

We ended up taking my woman's equinox. Although it wasn't as fun, lol, in some ways I'm glad . We never would have had room for the extra luggage for her son at college (on way home), couldn't have gone on track anyway at museum (mon-Fri only ), and even though hocking hill roads would have been awesome. ....we found out she gets car sick on windy roads and it rained both days in hocking hills. And the TRAIL to get to the cabin was barely enough of a road for the equinox let alone the vette.

Definitely going back next year. Hopefully will have my son with me and we will both drive the track. Even thoughtof puttin the vette and his wrx sti on a trailer so we could have some friendly competition on track.

Museum was a cool experience and I definitely enjoy the c7 more now that I got up close. I even bought a raffle ticket on the 2018 grand sport . Figured 1:1000 chance is worth a one time shot. Can't win if you don't play.

Went to the vette /classic place right next to museum as well. Lived some of the old cars for sale.

Was not impressed with the cafe.


Anyone ever think of planning a corvetteforum meet and greet at the museum?

you cNt just take your car out and open it up. From what I understand, you can pay $45 and follow a pace car driver. They said "if you can keep up, you can reach speeds of 100 mph on straight aways ". The guys I was watching were taking professional ciurse. Did classroom time, and had helmets and pretty much raced. They were driving corvettes, porsches, Ferrari, etc.
I think it would still be cool to.follow a pro driver.
