Default Car is not building oil pressure

Hi there, so I was driving my car and suddenly car drop oil pressure. I check the oil level and the car doesn't have any oil. I check the ground if there's any leaks or something but there's absolutely nothing. I put oil back in the car; I tried to turn the car on it built pressure for a little bit but then oil pressure drop again. I'm hearing a really loud clicking noise from the engine. Any suggestions?? Thanks for the help!!

Mmm, could be several things. Some history about the car may help.
You may have run the engine with no oil long enough to ruin the bearings and that's why it won't build pressure. The noise could be lack of oil pressure in the lifters or it could be destroyed rod and or main bearings.

Pull your oil and filter and look at the oil for metal or glitter. If either exists you probably need a rebuild or a new engine.
Good Luck

When was the last time you checked your oil level? Oil has to be going somewhere real fast, look again for leaks, look at your oil filter, oil pan. How much oil did you add to the engine the first time? Don’t do it again until you find leak. Hopefully it is not too late.

Hard to imagine losing 5 qts of oil and not seeing some signs.. .If you ran very long without oil, the motor is probably ruined...WW

5-6 quarts of oil will leave a VERY big puddle, either that or a catastrophic failure (filter, drain plug loosened) while underway which I would think would set off some kind of light. Either way, I too would be curious as to when the oil was checked/changed last, that would tell a lot.

Yikes. Let's hope you didn't do some major damage. I change my oil once a year. But I also only drive about 1000 miles a year. I would check and change your oil more often when you get your new motor.

Did you have the oil changed and no oil was put in??? Hard to imagine there is NO trace of the oil anywhere. I say it is impossible.

You must have a major leak somewhere, tough to lose 5+ quarts of oil without a tell tale puddle on the floor, I don't think that you could have burned all of that oil either, the engine would be smoking big time for that to happen. Look for a leak at your drain plug or the filter

If you have a Z06 you have 14 qts of oil in the dry dump oiling system. If you check the oil after it sits a while it will show no oil. Run the engine and check the oil level after the engine is turned off. You need help .

Loud clicking noise from the engine, sounds like rod bearings, have car towed to a shop, I would not drive it, get your checkbook ready.

From profile: "441ci SBC" in "Mods" (to car). Hmmm....maybe not trolling; just that someone forgot to put in oil? Just a thought.

For some months now, first thing I look at before replying to a thread is the OP's start date and post count. This forum seems plagued lately with "fake members" and unusually naive questions.
