Battery Tender?

Burning Brakes
I have one I paid about $45 for. It came with 3 adapters 1 for cigar lighter, another with alligator clips and a 3rd you can hard wire and leave in place. They all plug in with a polarized plug so no risk of wrong polarity. It has a 2 amp charge capability and milliamp output for battery maintenance. Bought it at an auto supply store and I keep it in the engine compartment and drop the power cord down to the ground between the body and exhaust manifold when the car is stored.

Ctek 3300 with cigar lighter adapter.
It is the same as the optional Corvette branded one that could be purchased as an option but is about half the price.
This is a maintainer only. If the battery is already dead it won't help.

I use the CTEK that was ordered with the car. It works great. If I don't plan to drive the car for more than a couple of days I plug it in. It only has the cigarette lighter plug. I run it under the passenger door. There is a small slot in the rocker to lay the cord in.

Battery Tender by Deltran (the original)...I have it connected to the battery with an extended (10 ft. I think) cord, zip tied along the passenger side engine compartment and coming out the grill. Every time I back into the garage I connect the BT and forget about it...

Deltran Battery Tender Jr. The smaller one charges slower so it will theoretically do less damage during the charge cycle with the downside that it can take an hour or more to get back to a full charge after driving. If I were to ever have a discharged battery and needed a quick charge I would use a regular charger. But for a maintainer the smaller the better.

I use the Black and Decker battery maintainer:
Very cheap, but handles a variety of dry and wet cell batteries. I crack the window to run the plug into the car and plug it into the cigarette lighter in the armrest.

Am I one of the rare one's where my vette still cranks after weeks sitting? I've gone 5 weeks without starting my vette but all this battery tender talk makes me want to buy one.

Four of my vehicles sit for 5 to 6 months annually. Two vettes and two motorcycles plugged into Battery Minder, maintainer/desulphater. $25 from Amazon. Both motorcycle batteries going on 6 years. I have used Battery Tenders but the Battery Minders come with longer cords and run cooler..
