Torch Red or Crystal Red Metallic - Which Would You Buy?

My 2001 was Torch Red and I loved it. I don't have the Crystal Red Metallic, but I have the Monterey Red Metallic, which was available through 2007. It is a little darker then the Crystal Red Metallic but still close. It comes down to do you want the in for face Red, or the much more ricer looking Crystal Red Metallic. In the sun that metallic really makes the car sparkle. I get more compliments on the Monterey Red Metallic over the Torch Red. Also Torch Red has the tendency to look orange in photos under certain lighting conditions.

Looking at two 2010 Grand Sports both very nice, low mileage cars (20k miles). One is Torch Red, the other is Crystal Red, which would you pick? Both have chrome rims which I'd probably switch to black or gray.
I had a red 944 Turbo and police came out of the woodwork - seriously it got to the point I felt like I was being harassed. I watched one weave his way through traffic on the highway for about three miles just to catch up to me and pull me over, and then told me had no reason but wanted to make sure I had insurance and wanted to make sure my tags were current.
The Crystal Red, I'm just undecided on. It looks great in the sunlight, it really pops, but kind of bland in the shade to the point of looking maroon, and I really don't care for maroon.
I'd love to hear opinions from the Corvette world.....
Thanks.

Love em ail all. But, I would go with crystal red .
I have a crystal red 2013 base. However, I have spent considerable dollars on upgrades.
I have won about 85 trophies. And, I have one of those exceptional performers that far
Exceeds the advertised 435 HP.
I just joined CF. Hard to get used to. Hope you get this comment.
I have a number of questions.
Good luck

It sounds like you already answered your own question. You said that CRM looks maroon in the shade and you don't like maroon. Then by all means go with the Torch Red.
I, on the other hand, absolutely love the way the CRM looks in the sunlight, or in the shade.

Your comment (post 19) it comes down to do you want the in for face red,or the much more RICER looking crystal red metallic) Maybe a typo and you meant to say Nicer instead of Ricer. If so my apologies. Some on here refer to some of the mods that others have done as being ricey looking.

I have Victory Red which is closer to Torch Red but I would have much preferred CRM (Only with Chrome wheels). Love that color and combo.
I don't care for black wheels but I think they would would look better on TR than CRM.

I would and did buy a 2012GS in Torch Red. Just had it coated with Opti-Coat Pro Plus and it looks even better now than the day I got it.
I did have a 2005 Magnetic Red Metallic which was a really cool color too.

Thank you all for the input, you were all (well almost all) very helpful. I love them both and either would be fine, but I've decided to go with the Crystal Red. My wife made the final decision, I took her to see a Crystal Red one and she absolutely loved it. My car, but her opinion matters a lot. I didn't mention post #4 about the woman wanting to lick it!

I prefer the brighter torch red to CRM. CRM does have metallic flake though which is a nice bonus. I love my JSB color for that. I had victory red before, but it had no metallic flake at all. Both look great though!
EDIT: Just saw you picked up the CRM GS. Congrats! Enjoy it!

My 2004 was Torch Red. My 2013 is CRM. Between the 2, I prefer the CRM...well worth the extra $$$.

Happy Wife, Happy Life......you will love it. Actually get several colors in one, like you say depending on the light, but all in the same shot.. Either way you'll enjoy it....It's a Corvette so what's not to enjoy.
DON'T FORGET THE PICTURES HERE WHEN YOU HAVE THEM....JUST SAYING
