Walmart Batteries
Has anybody bought and used battery from Walmart, when I had my C4 I used them, with no complaints year back.
On my C6, I bought A/C Delco, seems to last two years, and have to replace cause it couldn't even start the car. Just like the rest of you got strange DIC messages and then memory seats not working properly, then no power to crank.
I already made up my mind, no more Delco.

In the past when Consumer Reports tested auto batteries the Walmart ones rated very good. But it seems like it's been quite a while since they've been tested.

I think almost all of the battery brands are made by 2 or 3 different manufacturers.

When I had my '69 427/390hp coupe judged by the NCRS I had a Walmart battery in it. The judges almost had a cow. I've got a Duracell battery from Batteries Plus in my '09 and in my '69 Mustang now. My battery criteria is to buy the most CCA for the price.

Wow, there has to be more battery threads here than anything else.
The key to long battery life (in modern cars) is to keep it on a maintainer when parked.

Most aftermarket car batteries sold in the United States are made by three companies that build them for retailers: Johnson Controls, which supplies more than half of the market, Exide, and East Penn. They are sold under various names and built to the specifications of retailers, so performance can vary.
Johnson Controls makes for: Pep Boys, Sears, Advance Auto, Interstate, Optima, WalMart, Autozone, Costco

It seems about all the batteries cost about the same & last the same.
Expect a 3 year battery to go **** up in about 3 and half years. The days are long gone when you could get 6 or 7 years out of Die Hard. Really tough when you have a diesel pick up.

I bought an optima red top for my 07 coupe in 08 and it was about on it's last leg when I sold the car in 16. When the AC delco currently in my 11 GS fails, I'll buy another optima and never look back.

I got 23 months out of two AC Delco batteries. Both of which split open and leaked acid into the engine compartment. I switched to an Optima and had it go bad just under the warranty period and got it replaced for free.

I got an off-brand battery from a local family-run auto parts store in July 2014 for around $100.
The car sits for 4-5 months every winter in an unheated barn and is still running strong, although it is ALWAYS on a maintainer when parked at home.

Get an AGM from sams club instead.
