Default Leather 'n LED shift **** {Pics}

Hello C6 folks from a C5'er.

I originally started a thread in C5 Gen for a new shift **** I installed and figured since the C5/C6 have the same shift pattern, I would share it with you guys.

(I searched here in C6 Gen and didn't see any threads with this ****, so forgive me if it's been discussed before)

Original thread

I was browsing through eBay and come across a **** I hadn't seen before. I checked on the forum and didn't find much on it, with the exception of member "alcoed" in a post from last year.

I went ahead and looked at the link on eBay and chose to visit the manufacturers website directly. The manufacturer is in Germany and has several options to choose from.

You can choose from 3 **** styles, 3 **** trim finishes, along with several stitch and LED colors. Their interactive website shows you what your choice will look like as a finished product.

I ordered the **** on a Thursday and it arrived on the following Monday, super quick! Total cost shipped was around $115 converted from Euros.

Anyways, let's get on to the pics!

I ordered my **** with a satin trim finish, they have black and chrome as other finish options. Also chose black stitching and white for the LED color.

New **** with old c6 ****.

These shift ***** are for both c5 & c6, BTW. They secure to the shaft via 3 Allen bolts.

Here's the underside showing LED wiring, power and ground.

Some installed pics, light off and on. I wired the power to the climate control so that the light is only on with the parking/headlights.

The **** feels great in the hand and looks handsome to the eye. It also gives a smooth, even glow without being too bright or giving off hotspots.

If anyone wants more info on where to get this, shoot me a PM (or just google search it) as they are not a forum vendor.

Like some of the C5 guys I came in this thread thinking it would be some terrible offender of common taste but this is really sharp.

Found their website and customization is pretty easy. Adding this to the possibles list.

That is a pretty cool mod. I may just have to try it out.

I had a similar allen screw shift **** on my C4. Note the key word in that was HAD.

It was super loose. It would work itself free all the damn time. When the screws were tight, it was fine. But they would vibrate out so quickly it ws a moot point. Nothing would fix it, not even Loctite.

I replaced it with a **** that had the threading drilled in to it to mount securely. If this attached in that way, it'd be worth looking at. But with a 3 set screw install, I don't see it attaching securely enough for my tastes.

^I've had it in my daily driver for almost 3 weeks now and there have been no issues with it coming loose

it's not hecho in china so I'm pretty sure the long-term quality is there

So if you forget where the gears are at night, you can look down and see the pattern.

Sorry I stopped looking at the shift pattern less than a year after I had my first vette. I actually am thinking of getting a **** without a pattern. It's an interesting novelty though.

It's different and I kind of like it. Wouldn't work for me due to a MOMO round **** but it's cool.

Your missing the point. Nobody actually uses the shift pattern on the top of the **** in ANY car. If you do you shouldn't be driving a manual. All it does is add a little bling.

Has a clean oem type of look. I have had bad luck with keeping most aftermarket ***** tight. If it stays tight, then awesome. I prefer my 3in delrin basic **** but I am a light/LED fanatic (3000+ leds in car) . Fun stuff ! White light is nice choice.
