Anytime we install a new cam when doing a head swap we install new lifters with the new cam.

Just FYI we typically replace the lifters on higher mileage cars but on lower mileage cars leave the lifters in as long as they have no noise's prior and look good upon inspection. The trays are good for a good long while and only rarely require replacing on an Ls7. Although i do see the idea behind they are cheap so why not but honestly at 6k or even 60k changing trays is not needed unless they are damaged or look brittle.
Anytime we install a new cam when doing a head swap we install new lifters with the new cam.

Yep that’s the one i used!! Note:: I have a 2013 427 vert and in the directions it says to remove four bolts on each exhaust manifold to the collector box just below. Not sure what year of car you have, but don’t do that step. Just remove two 15 mm bolts on exhaust pipes mid way, it’s so much easier. Good luck!

Cleaning the top of the pistons and the deck. Khole should receive my heads tomorrow. I chose to r&r my original heads. Here is what I want from AHP. 1) of course r&r heads 2) install Moldstar 90 guides 3) port and polish heads 3) mill the heads 020 (to be verified w/Khole) 4) new springs 5) AHP gasket set w/ARP head bolts, NKG plugs, etc. 6) new lifters (new pushrods bc of 020 milling) I decided not to upgrade the cam, leaving stock cam in for now. Also, decided not to port the TB and Intake, if I upgrade cam maybe do it then. For the money there really was not much gain. Put the money into durability. As for the guides, I want the best and yes I’m want to track it once a year. It’s going to feel so good to run it hard and not worry. Here’s to AHP!! HIP HIP hooray!!!! Khole is the MAN!

The exhaust valves appear to excessive play in the guides. Khole will check soon and let me know his wiggle test. My goal is durability and the feeling of I can run it hard and not to worry about dropping a valve and destroying the engine. The LS7 is an incredible engine. Pulls like a Frieght train!!

Performed. The results are as follows: three valve guides are out of spec and one is border line. So I’m going to say four. Again I have less than
6k miles on the clock!! AHP confirmed my suspicion. Thank you AHP for checking. It’s a great feeling to know my heads are in good hands
