Pic:: Today I start removing my heads LS7
Today I start the removal of my heads. 2013 427 vert. Should have them off by Wednesday. Can’t work on it all day Tuesday. Maybe even Thursday just taking my time enjoying working on vet. Be fun to have a wrenching buddy, for the sake of two minds. Lol. I used to do a lot of wrenching. Following DIY instructions from JeffryStar. I sold my C5 just have my painting now.

I'd love to have a wrenching buddy in town too We're almost close enough but not quite to make it convenient. That lift looks great & handy!

Good luck with the install!
I just finished mine over this past weekend. Had plenty of interruptions, days I didn't really feel like doing anything and "might as well install that too, while I'm in there" moments. Just take your time, triple check that you've got all the crud and fluid out of the head bolt holes and then triple check that you put the lash caps back on the intake valves.
Did you go with aftermarket or reworked heads? Who did them? Also, are you doing just the heads, or are you doing a cam as well?

That 116 cam seems to be a pretty solid choice. I've seen quite a few threads about it with satisfied customers. Definitely keep an eye on your budget, it can get away from you really quick with a heads/cam project.
As for my combo:
-AHP Package 4 Heads; MoldStar90 guides, ported, milled .010", OEM exhaust valves & OEM intake valves treated by Del-West, PSI 1515 titanium springs, BTR titanium LS7 retainers.
-Synergy Motorsports LS7 smog cam
Plus a bunch of other goodies while I already had everything apart.

I put AHPs on my LS7 a couple of months ago following that DIY. Took me a weekend. I found cleaning the decks to be the most time-consuming, agonizing part. Take your time and take lots of pics. Good luck! It's a great feeling to do the work yourself and also get to enjoy the car without fear of dropping a valve.

Should have the heads off tomorrow if I don’t have any big interruptions. Sending my heads done on Thursday at the latest. BTW, the PSP what a pita that is, but it is done at least till I put it together. I noticed the radiator seems really small, like maybe a two core!

Got some interruptions but not a to bad a day. I was hoping to get the heads off didn’t quite make it. Should have them off completely tomorrow.
I have a question. Tried to remove exhaust manifolds completely out of the engine bay but there r four bolts on each side below the collector but I can’t reach the fourth bolt? What to do?? Thanks

You have 2 real options. One which we do is to use a razor blade and carefully scrape the old gasket off the block.
2 is to us a product called gasket remover by permatex (while bottle with a brush on top). Apply that to the block, let sit 15 min and then scrap off with a plastic scrapper, just make sure not the get the gasket remover in the bores as it does stain the bore's. The goal is to remove the old gasket completely. You will still have ghosting (barley/slighly visible impression) from the old gasket but as long as you can no longer feel it your good to go.
