Default Who's Running HIDs?

I just installed a pair of new bulbs (lows) and bulbs and ballasts (highs) and only one of the highs worked at all, it was totally anemic, could not really even tell the one high was on while the lows were on. I pulled those bitches right out.

Are people running HIDs in C6's happy with them? I'm assuming they are and they are a huge improvment over stock, I just got crappy ones? Does that sound right? I got a pair from DDM years ago for my sisters Colorado pickup and they were fantastic, that's why I ordered from DDM this time.

Am I expecting too much out of them? I realize going to a 6000k is going to be marginally dimmer because of the temp but I was holding a free harbor freight give away flashlight in front of the car, shining it on the ground thru the headlights and I could see the flashlight beam over the hids, that's how bad they were.

Who's making the best brightest plug and play kits today? I'd love some feedback. thanks

I'm using HIDs in the high beam and fog lights. I think you got a crappy pair.

The most-often recommended high quality sets I have seen is Morimoto. But if you are a DDM Tuning buyer you probably will not be willing to pay the price for entry. For a cheap kit I have had pretty good luck with Opt7 in the past.

I run HID in the fogs, 5000k and could not be happier. I did not bother with high beams since I never use them.

I installed HID in fogs & low beams both work great, when I do use the high beams I can really see how white & bright the lows are compared to the yellow light of the high beams

Where did you get yours? Are they digital ballast?

thanks for the mention.

OP, it does sound like a bad set. Unless you want to change the color of the lows, you already have the brightest low beams out there for your C6.

I would strongly suggest our led fog kit if you're trying to put more light down the road. This is the latest technology and will blow the HID kits away. These have no ballasts to install either. Easy.

For highs, we have a high beam kit as well. Simple plug n play with no ballasts to deal with.

What brand are you using? I thought about doing the fogs but I though it was a little easier to turn the highs on\off. I'm leaning towards doing the lows and fogs now.

How do your LED's compare to a good set of HIDs? I'm leaning towards you lows\fogs

I just bought these myself, haven't received them yet, when I do and get them installed I'll let everyone know what I think of them. https://www.vette-lights.com/collect...ghtplug-n-play

Brighter, instant on (HIDs have warm up time), easier to install, and more reliable.

Do you have to cut or modify anything to install these? Are they just plug-n-play?

So the one good thing I can say about DDM is that they are going to refund my money, that's pretty cool. I'm happy to be able to support a forum vendor now as well. Jhonathan has been really great to deal with, answering all my stupid questions. I'll let everyone know when I get them, I'm sure I'll have them in within a couple hours of them landing. I ordered the new HID bulbs for the lows and the LEDs for the fogs.

Got my lights today, can't wait to install, quick shipping, very pleased so far.
