Salvage Flood Buy
Will share some adventures with salvage flooded buy that I have done and doing. First the pictures of the c6 I picked up yesterday, and the last of the truck that towed it home. A little history on the truck, it was new when I got in 05 with one little problem. 12 yrs later still going strong. More on the c6 later, time to get it off the trailer.

I am both fascinated and petrified by this thread. I am anxious to see how well the OP can bring that C6 back from the dead. At the same time, if he does too good a job, it will scare me for future car purchases. Not every car in this condition...or even worse...gets flagged as a salvage car.

OP: What are the plans? How much $ did you pay for it?

Restoring this will require complete strip-down, every nut and bolt.
Most if not all electronics replaced, new interior, virtually everything.
Sure help being a Master Mechanic w/ tools/shop manuals + lots of exposure to C6.
Assuming an excellent restoration w/ unlimited $, after all's said & done it still has a branded title @ half book value of an equivalent C6 GS.
What's the plan behind this?
Parts?
What'd it cost as-is, pictured?

Good luck with it. Electrics would scare me away.
Took my 2k C5 to the local diy wand car wash and before I got home it died. Turned out to be 4 bad computer modules. After market ins paid $2500 To fix it.
Bought a new 2005 C6 within a week of getting it back.

You might be able to earn a bit more than minimum wage if you really hustle. But you have to keep track not only of your time stripping it, but how much time you spend setting up ads and then the time spent actually selling the parts.
And the original cost of the car (including the cost of getting it to your garage) must be subtracted from the total income of parts sold (assuming the latter is the higher number) and what's left over divided by the hours spent -- then you will know if you worked for free, or made minimum wage, etc.
And the original cost is . . . ???
But if your time is free and this is just a hobby, or a way of getting out of the house for whatever reason . . .
Just thinking about all this makes me very tired . . .

I would think that a salt water flood would be toast for all electrical parts. Mechanical parts are good if cleaned and sold. Good Luck with your project.
