2010 ZO6 won’t start
I have a 2010 Z06 that will not start. It just makes a clicking noise like there is a dead battery and it will not turn over. Done lights etc are extremely dim (obviously the battery is dead). I had the same issue three months ago and replaced the original battery which fixed the problem. Now it is doing the same thing. Car has sat for a week and a half, but this shouldn’t affect anything. Anybody have this problem? Is there something maybe draining the new battery when just sitting there? I did not leave the lights on or anything. I’ll call the dealership in the morning.
Need to get to the root cause here. Thanks in advance.

What after market things do know you have?
Have you checked to make sure all battery connections are rock solid?
The car should time out, so leaving lights on should not be an issue, regardless.

The battery is too weak to start it. You should keep a tender on it when you leave it that long even though a week and a half is not that long. Put a charger on it for a few hours and you should be good to go.

Everything is stock on the car. I just bought it six months ago. Battery connections seem to be good. I just bought a Deltran battery tender plus which should be shipped here in a few days that I’ll put on it and keep it on regularly. Thanks for the quick reply’s.

No need to call the dealership or buy a new battery. Go to your local auto parts store or Wally World and buy a battery tender. When you are not driving it, put the battery tender on it. Nothing wrong with it, they all do it. Again, do not call the dealership and do not go buy another new battery. Charge the battery and keep it charged.

Another vote for battery tender, especially for cars sitting any length of time.
But, could be a parasitic draw too.
IIRC 2 most reported culprits are failing stereo, or bad OnStar module.
Both cause excess draw and do not time-out as they're supposed to.
Something to keep in mind, tho' a BT should fix this.

As mentioned a battery tender is a wise addition but I would also recommend having the battery load tested, making sure it did not suffer deterioration when it was fully discharged. Most parts store can perform a free load test, but be sure to fully charge it first.
Remember that anything plugged into the cig light outlets is not protected by the battery protection feature, and they are hot all the time.

first get the battery ''FULLY'' charged ,might take 2 days, then disconnect pos cable and let the battery sit for 2-3 days, check the battery voltage every day ,it should stay at 12.6-12.5 for that time
then if its ok,connect pos cable and either drive car,or put tender on it

Although I do the same thing, I never had a issue only one day I forgot to turn it off when I went to work, it was on all day for 9 hours, but the car started right up.

The battery should be under warranty since you bought it only 3 months ago. Where did you get the battery? what brand?
It sucks, but I'd pull it from the car and take it back to where you bought it. Have them check it out for you. It could just be a bad battery.
Then like you said, once your battery tender arrives keep it hooked up going forward.

CL stays hot, doesn't power down w/ all other electronics.
I leave an air ionizer pugged-in to CL whenever garaged.
Also hooked to a battery tender so no problem, battery stays charged & cabin air cleaned.
Disconnect radar detector when parked if powered by CL.
Or wire into a switched source, many of us tap into mirror.
RD's powered only when running along w/ mirror.

Deltran Battery Tender Plus has been hooked up for well over 48 hrs. The red light from the battery tender has been on indicating that it is charging. I hooked up the positive and negative hook ups like indicated under the fuse box etc. I came out to the car expecting it to be about ready and nothing. The car is more dead now than it was two days ago. Pretty confused here. I’m confident this thing is hooked up right. Any ideas?
