Default Cost of Powder Coating Wheels

I have a set of the early C6 Z06 wheels in black chrome that have curb rash on the two front wheels so I was thinking of getting them powder coated. Just wondering if anyone has an idea on the cost to do all four.

I'm currently looking into a similar situation since my TPMS sensors are near the end of life and need to replace all 4. I have 2 wheels with curb rash and I damaged the other 2 with a high pressure power washer so want to get the wheels repaired and refinished.

I found an alloy wheel repair specialty outfit that has an excellent reputation and asked for a quote to get 4 wheels refinished. In order to minimize the possibility of damage to the wheels finish they do everything as part of a package deal.

The re and re the tires, chemically strip the wheels, repair any curb rash, refinish the wheels and re-balance them. They would install the new TPMS sensors that I provide as part of the job. Since the labor required to powder coat or paint and clear coat would be similar here is a ballpark amount they quoted me for doing all 4 wheels. I was quoted $780 Canadian which would be 25% less in USD.

Prices here have gone up dramatically in the last few years, odd huh
They used to charge $50 a wheel but I just went to the same place and he now charges $100@ wheel So I said screw it, I'll just buy new repros when the time comes

Maybe because I was a big customer ($300 - 800K annually), my personal stuff was free. Now that my businesses are gone and he sold his too, the prices for my small items fit the $100 minimum. I'd guess 4 wheels would exceed that, since they'd have to strip them first and that'd be the bigger part of the total cost.

So check the price if you stripped them yourself.

I’ve done it twice. Without a rim repair, I bargained for $75 each in black...$100 each w some repair (again in a black finish) If you want a two stage color you re looking at $159 a wheel or more.

Yeah. I checked into black chroming (spray) my OEM gumbies a few months ago. Guy 2500miles away wanted $125/wheel. The shipping isn't cheap plus have to unmount tires. I just concluded it's not worth it.

I paid $125 a wheel for my chrome Spyders to be powder coated black. All 4 had curb rash which was repaired. Seems to be the going rate around here. There are only a couple of places locally to do it and they are always really busy, so they get a premium.
