I had a '66 427/425 Coupe as well. Car was restored/numbers matching/no accidents and in pristine condition. I wanted a C2 ever since I saw a brand new '63 coupe parked near my elementary school.
It was just as quick as my '06, C6 but was quite a bit scarier given the 40 year old chassis and period-correct tires. It had 16 options including power brakes but there just wasn't enough rubber on the road to feel secure.
It also required high octane gas that was a bit of a PITA, but it smelled great. Traded it for my C6 (I also got a large chunk of cash that I immediately spent on a wide-body/etc mod) and haven't regretted it at all.
If I could just afford both.................

Excellent comparison of the 2 cars! If I remember correctly, my C2 67 427/390hp came new with Firestone 2ply 4 ply rated redline tires on a car that could go over 130mph! Scary stuff. Still, I wouldn't mind having it now, but I think my base C6 would run circles around it! Literally.
