Default Seat Movement

I've noticed a slight movement on the track of my driver's side seat when accelerating from a stop. It's as if the seat track is loose or the seat itself is loose on the track. I tried tightening all the mounting bolts holding the seat tracks to the car as well as what I could see attaching the seat to the track. For the most part, everything was already snug even though I managed to get bolts a little bit tighter, but the problem is still there. It only moves a slight tad, just enough to feel it through my butt and be annoying.

Has anyone experienced the same? and if so, what's the fix? The car is an 06 Z51 model coupe which I purchased new.

it was a common issue on the C5, although a few here earlier on used this to correct the concern on their C6's..............

I had the same problem. Tried to fix it many ways, but ended up getting a new seat adjuster (pricey). All good now.

As the previous poster stated, this sounds like the "rocking chair" problem that was common on C5s. I had the problem on my C5 and had to replace the nylon bushings in the seat track using instructions similar to that link. I'm not sure if the seat tracks on the C6 are similar.

The C6 solution is the same as the C5. Just did it in my '11. I didn't realize how annoying the movement was until I put the nylon bushings in. Now it is rock solid.

Is that job really as bad as the directions make it seem?

I did the repair on a C5 before, and was really not that bad. Just takes a lil time and patience...

Really? Everything I've read says the C5 repair bushings won't cure a rocking C6 seat, that the problem is in the nylon gears that drives the power adjusters. Or maybe you're talking about a manual seat?

What I and others have found is if the (power) seat is all the way down, the rocking stops. Fortunately that's a comfortable setting for me, but I suppose not a solution for others.
