Default SoCal Garage Works

Was wondering if anyone has had trouble w/ SoCal Garage Works? I placed an order with them on Sept 25th and have yet to receive the steering wheel I ordered. Saw pics of their steering wheels on this forum and wondered if those who bought from them were pleased and received their item in a timely manner?? I'm about to contact PayPal.
Thanks!

Yup, called them and was ignored/went to voice mail. Sent an email as well. Decided to contact Paypal just to find out if other customers had problems they were aware of and got stuck with a voice automated menu. The next thing I knew I was staring at a screen on my phone asking if I wanted to file a dispute. After waiting almost 3 months and being ignored so many times, I filed the dispute. Before I could log off of PayPal, I had two emails in my inbox from them. I guess they're a little upset now cuz the funds have been pulled out of their account and they have a black mark against their supposed good name until I retract the dispute. I have a good mind to not retract the dispute until I receive my steering wheel!

That's what I would do, and then right a good report--- with explanation.

Interesting they replied as soon as you filed the dispute!

This looks like a case of simply getting PayPal to settle the deal (refund your money) and you moving on.

Though, to be fair, if you do get the wheel eventually, I'd leave constructive negative feedback so they can learn from their mistakes.

I ordered one in early September. They agreed to fabricate one for my 2005. They sent me a pic in late Nov that they had just finished and it would be shipping soon (What a great looking steering wheel).

I realized that the steering wheel was for a C5 not an 05 C6. I replied letting them know. They responded and apologized and mentioned their source had told them it was for a 2005. They said they would get on the new one right away. He also mentioned that they were currently working on about 60 corvette steering wheels.

I then saw that they put the C5 steering wheel on ebay. ( I know it was the one they made for me since it had a unique feature I had requested). They stated on that C5 listing that there was no waiting (It sold within a day or two with a great follow up review). Conversely, on the listing for the C6 steering wheels, they mention it can take several months due to fabrication.

I haven't heard from him since he agreed to make the other but then again, they never reached out the first go around during fabrication.

Considering the feedback on ebay has been really great, and they did in fact produce what they thought was a steering wheel for an 05, I'm not going to worry. I figure I will see the wheel sometime in February or March.

Hopefully you get yours soon.

IMO, I think a month is long enough to wait for anything. Most of these vendors are small potatoes and don't fabricate anything a head of time, just wait for orders and then get overwhelmed. Personal I could not do business like that, hand to mouth. Again this my two cents.

Nice to hear that you got it.
I am waiting for my carbon steering wheel from 26 October, hope to get to the new year. Respond promptly, but say delays due because fires.

How's the quality of the steering wheel? It looks pretty damn nice for the price!

The phone picture doesn't begin to do it justice. Quality is top notch. Black perforated leather on the sides and regular smooth leather top & bottom w/ red stitching to match the interior of my 2012 GS Centennial. I was a bit surprised how fat the wheel is. It's 1-3/8" in diameter. Like maybe they covered an existing wheel without stripping off the previous covering. Anyway, I'm looking forward to installing it, the oem alcantara just doesn't work for me, too slippery.

They just emailed me and let me know mine was on the way. They finished sooner than I expected.

I ordered a carbon fiber / suede unit for my GS. It's only been a little over a month so far. Glad to hear the quality is good. Living in the immediate gratification world, it's hard to wait, but it sounds like it's worth it.

Default DO NOT TRUST SoCal Garage!!!

DO NOT RECOMMEND!! I ordered carbon st wheel for 520$ at !!oct 26 2017!!, everytime they told me its will be delivered one week later for some reasons (fireworks in bel air...), from middle of dec they started no answering. I opened eBay guaranty case at 1st feb and they responded after 1 hour “please close this case, it’s ready to ship and will be delivered in next few days”, I closed, waited about one week, texted and they no answering again!! 1st March I called to eBay and they told me “your 3 months money back guaranty is expired”... I contacted with PayPal and opened case, after few days they refunded!

Sorry to hear you had so much trouble. It was slow going but I did end up getting mine. I love it but hate to hear others didn't get what they ordered. Did they ever say why they didn't deliver?
