2021 C6 of the Year Finalist - Modified
I find the seats in my 2011 GS comfortable on long drives.
However, at my age, it's still pretty easy getting in the car ... but it's no fun getting out of it ... no fun at all !

I have had a similar experience with long drives on my 13 GS that I never had in my younger days... ha ha and now I have more padding and not from my wallet.
Another thing I have thought about... ride quality... smooth roads they all ride smooth but when the roads get rough, Corvettes can get pretty rough too. Do Base models ride smoother than GS’s , than Z51’s, the Z06’s etc. . I am looking for more than HP now. 😎

From my experience road testing various C6 models on the street, and not taking the different seats( years and models) into consideration or on the track, just the comfort(smoother ride) on the road!
I drove a 2013 427 Vert manual with 15,000 miles on it, an 09 Z51 coupe manual with 19,000 miles, and the car I now own, a 08 base Vert manual with 17,000 miles. I'm sure there is a differences between suspensions, but to me on the street, they all rode very similar. If you're uncomfortable in one of these cars, it going to be the same in all of them, especially getting in or out of the drivers seat, or going over bumpy roads!
Once again, I'm just expressing my experience driving the C6
I've had lower back surgery for herniated discs, and to this day find it still painful after driving any car for several hours. It didn't stop me from buying the Vette!

I've owned my '06 convertible for almost 12 years. Until this week, I haven't made any long drives since summer. After about three hours of driving, with a break, the seat really became uncomfortable. My hips were bothering me, my wallet was bugging me and I couldn't adjust the seat back to a comfortable position.
Does the upgrade to the 2012 seat help, or am I getting too old to enjoy a long drive? It does seem like it is getting harder to get in and out of my car.

...and to add to the post, if you haven't done the seat upgrade to your '05, I'd highly recommend it. I would bet big money that if you peel back the layers, you'd find your bottom seat cushion is sliced and diced by the metal frame of the seat. Also, the springs may have cut into the center cushion which would cause additional sag while sitting. Get the inexpensive kit and fix your problems with very little money. And to chime in with the others, lose the wallet...not literally.
Buy the $40 kit and have someone put it in for you if you don't want to install it yourself.
Big difference.

I've taken several long trips in my 07' 3LT coupe and never felt, that, the seats were uncomfortable. I'm on the smaller end of the spectrum though, 5' 7" and 160 lbs. Maybe that has something to do with it. But, I've also had lower back and sciatica problems too. I once had to drive to the chiropractor when my back was in spasm and that was THE worst I've ever felt. But, the seats had nothing to do with it. As to the wallet thing, I switched to a nylon type wallet many years ago. It doesn't bother me a bit.

Some many years ago I had a car with uncomfortable seats. I bought this massage seat mat from Sharper Image, that fit the seat and seat back that plugged into the cigarette lighter. It had all these different massage functions. The coolest one pulsated like a wave from your shoulders, down to the back of your thighs.
The longest I've ever driven in my '12 GS was four hours. These seats are very comfortable on the road. I take out my wallet, and my shoes on a long drive. I wish it had ventilated seats. That would make it perfect.

My longest trip was 10 hours in my C6. I am not gonna lie. I was hurting when I got out!

Get one of these Sojoy gel cushions. You can get it on Amazon for about 35 bucks. I trimmed mine slightly at the front so it wouldn't press into my legs. Huge difference, very comfy and cool. Best regards

As others have said, get the seat(s) fixed. My car is a 2006. This summer, after a three week, 3700 mile road trip I took the car to a local trim/upholstery shop with the kits. He gave me the kits back. He disassembled the seats, put some burlap over the springs and padded the seat backs where they want to come through the lower front edge of the seat covers.
My driver seat lower cushion was shredded through the wires so that cushion had to be replaced.
Seat comfort is greatly improved. Looking forward to next year’s road trip.

My 2013 with the 3LT trim has comfortable seats. We do 650 miles to Florida from Louisville in about 10 1/2 hours and I make it OK. The 2013 seats are more comfortable than my 2003 seats ever thought of being.

We do trips from mid America to the coast (East and West) and the seats in our 13 GS are fantastic. I can drive all day (10 plus hours) and get out without any pain in my 62 year old body. I can't say the same for my 99 convertible.

Two 3000 mile round trips to KW, try folding a bath towel up and sitting on that takes all the discomfort out of long trips

Yup, wallet in cargo pants front pocket or wallet in center console. The problem with your back and the seat is that where the seat folds you will notice that there is a curved surface on the seat back that does unstable your vertabra when pushing the pedals or driving on bumpy roads. Since my back is totally a mess from S1 to T12, I found that if you roll up a small towel and stick in the fold area (avoid the bolsters) to get rid of the curved surface on the seat back my pain reduces. When I also wear my back brace, there's no pain for prolonged sitting.

I'm going to try your suggestion with the towel. I've already taken my thick wallet out of the right back pocket, and the 2 heavy key rings out of my front pockets, and put them in the center console. The only problem is taking the keys out. You can't pick them up until they cool down!
