Oh, it depends on the celebrity. I can't see this guy's car bringing any more money than a regular car but then again, I have no idea who this guy is or was.
It can work differently. Here's an example. I can go to any local thrift store and buy a used hat for a few bucks. Now make that hat the one John Wayne wore in True Grit's shootout sequence and it soars in value to many.
The problem with celebrity cars is what do you do with them? Drive them and they sink in value so do you buy then consign to a museum?

Depending on your age, Friday nights revolved around watching the Brady Bunch and the Partridge Family. Kinda dating myself with that comment.
Don't really think the car would have celebrity value. I have a Callaway and usually scan eBay to see what's there. Thought his ownership was an interesting side note on a nice Vette.

Well, with less than 2 days left it's at its market value ($40k-ish), in my uneducated opinion. Apparently the seller thinks a has-been who was never relevant and no one has thought of in 40 years brings quite a premium as it hasn't met the reserve price yet..

The fact that he owned it wouldn't add any value for me.

Safety Car
Cars owned by Steve McQueen went for big money, one there went for $11 million...

Yeah, I saw that the Ferrari that was in a Michael Jackson commercial, and that he never actually owned, is going to auction for at least one million. It sold for $80,000 at Barrett-Jackson in 2014.
It might be worth while to buy this Vette and hold it for a couple years.

I'm sure that someone will care who owned the car, but at the end of the day it's just another Callaway and worth the same amount as any other.
Now if it had been specially built for this particular celebrity and different from all the rest, that might make it worth a little something more.

David Cassidy was a low-level celebrity except for about 5 years in the 70's, that will never influence a higher price on this car. Would you buy a car owned by Barry Williams? Same amount of celebrity and singing career.

Safety Car
As a teen he made out with his TV mom, Florence Henderson. That fact alone should raise the price of a Barry Williams car by a couple thousand. And don't forget about Marcia, Marcia, Marcia.
