Legal Question
So if you're driving down a highway really fast and you don't get caught, and you talk about it on a forum can the law still do something to you? Just a hypothetical question of course. I understand street racing is illegal and would never get involved in it but I am curious. I know that we have people on the forum from all walks of life.

If you just brag about it online, it's unlikely anything will come of it. If you identify where you are driving dangerously, you might notice a lot more police in the area next time.
Now, if you've posted video of your antics on YouTube, it's possible you might face actual consequences. That has happened before. I'm not 100% sure how admissible YouTube videos are in court, but usually the fools who post videos of their crimes confess when confronted with their own published videos as evidence.

For example if you confess to a rape with details here and the police get wind of it, they cannot arrest due to the post but they can launch an investigation which will gather evidence against you.

There was a guy here in Oklahoma City who was running his turbo C-5 Corvette late at night on the turnpike and posted a video on Youtube. The Police came knocking on his door the next day and gave him ride to jail.

From the FWIW Department: Have a good pal, he drives a '06 Ford GT.
Since he/his family own a chain of dealerships, one a Ford store, his GT's hardly stock.
Couple years ago he meets up w/ a Lotus on a warm summer evening, they're going to race.
They're on I43 heading away (W) from the city, it's dark and Interstate's empty.
Except for themselves and one of their buddies filming entire race, from behind, w/ both plate #s plainly visible. Doink!
Video appeared on all local TV stations as they fanning the flames of outrage.
Both were arrested, not just ticketed and it cost both over $350 in fines + attorney fees + points for street racing.
Was a Big deal around here given the guy's name & connection to family's dealerships.
So yes a video posted to uT of an illegal act can & does result in trouble. Seen it happen, first-hand.

A lot of cities have tons of cameras around also, even around the state here in Utah. Could the UHP use that camera as evidence of reckless driving? I don't know to be honest. People don't realize that what you do on-line can cause havoc for you in your personal life. Potential and current employers now check FaceBook and Twitter accounts. A potential employer can use it to not hire you and you can't do anything about it as they can say "we decided to hire someone else".
Government employee names (including military) are ran every night to see if they have been arrested. Welcome to the digital age!

Report any “spirited” type driving in the third person. The word spirited can have various meanings. Anything you put on line either written or videoed can be used against you, insurance, legally etc. Choose your words carefully. Have fun be safe 😎

If you have to ask why then that helps explain the lolly pop of your post. But just to pacify the infants....what do you think.....the cops are gonna go into Corvette forum and read post and when they find one where someone discuss's the fact that they were doing 80 in a 50 that they are gonna track them down and then go to their door and arrest them? Now you want to talk about .....
