Under side of hood pad

Buyers beware of these decals being sold for the inlay of the hood pad.
Purchased one and followed the install instructions provided
The heat build up under the hood causes the adhesive to loosen over time
and the decal begins to roll up on the edges and start to come off.
Have not found an adhesive yet that will hold with the high heat
conditions under the hood. Just my observance.
Good Luck

Only makes sense. Same thing happens with those self stick trunk lid liners. They don't stay on either. Had one in my 02, and have the 3 piece one in my 13. Both came loose to the point I ended up using crazy glue to keep them in. Looks good, but a pain in the ***. The OP would probably be better off buying heat resistant paint and painting the emblem while it's off the car before installing.

You could, but just remember that there's a big difference between what a trunk liner and a decal are made of. While super glue is great for plastics and cardboards and heavy materials, it may dissolve whatever the decal is made of. Don't know if anyone has a way of testing it before you apply it, but I'd sure be careful before you do. I still think your best bet is to have it painted (or paint it yourself) instead with heat resistant paint. I know plenty of guys on here have done it with good results. Of course, you may be looking for the "sheen" from a decal that you don't really get from paint. I had a painted hoodliner in my 02 Z and it looked as good 12 years later as it did on the day I installed it.
But whatever you decide to do, I'm looking forward to seeing the finished pics. Trust your gut. You'll make the right choice for you.

I think I'm going to use 3M black weather strip adhesive. the stuff is amazing and pretty much impervious to heat. I've used it in many underhood repairs with great success. Air housings and stuff like that.
