Chevrolet made roughly 19,000 1969 Z28's. There's probably over 50,000 still around. Emblems and decals are cheaper than buying the real thing.

The 69 Z fakes are a lot easier to spot especially if they say numbers matching. The DZ block and Trim Plate are the easy give aways. Although there are some people that have restamped blocks and reproduced the Trim Plates, close examination will reveal the truth. I have seen Z28's with automatics and factory A/C boxes on the firewall. All Z28's were 4 Speed cars with no A/C. We have a 69 SS 350 4 speed, 3.36 posi 12 Bolt, no A/C, no power steering, that is documented and there is always someone asking if it is real.
Now that Vette is another story. Maybe it is a stealth supercharger that fits under that cover!!! I am sure it is a one of one.

Hold on here !! I'm confused. Seems like this forum is always preaching the providence of we all have the right to our opinion and what ever we want to do with our beloved C-6 should be well accepted, and also praised for what ever the said owner has done to it to "Make it his/her own". So why so much blasting of the pics in question of the car that obviously looks like something out of a Mad magazine article ??......

Smh. When my wife & i had a '08 HHR SS , there was another HHR in our apartment complex at the time, but it was a base HHR. After a few months, I noticed that they put SS badges on it. I was annoyed & irritated. Once, we were both on a busy street , side by side , after awhile, I punched the gas & their non-turbo fake SS couldn't keep up. The owner looked liked he was at least 10-15 yrs older than i was .
One day, i went to look at the guys HHR, was gonna leave this note on his windshield , calling him out for the badges & lack of SS body panels, (They are CLEARLY different than base HHR's) then i noticed the badges, 2 were upside down ( very subtle, but I could tell) and another one was a bit offset . I just laughed and decided not to leave the note , so I could have good karma. Let him live in shame.

Take the fake badge and supercharged cover off and It's honestly not that bad. I like the engine compartment. (minus the "supercharger" Looks like the parts were Hydro dipped.

I bought my '07 a few years back. It had the rear wide body and early model Z07 black chrome style wheels. It also had the Z51 badges on the front fender where a Z06 would have it badges. I removed them so as not to be looked at as a poser.
Here is a before and after.
Remove the Z06 badges and the cover that says LS3 Supercharged and it would not be a bad car. But as I have said many times on this forum, if the owner is happy that is all that matters. As Corvette enthusiast we know it is not a supercharged Z06, but he is the one that will have to explain it to those that ask.

I find it interesting that he went to a car show, where a good portion of people will call him out for it, opposed to trying to trick his neighbor Rick who drives a Honda Fit into thinking he has a supercharged beast.

Remind me to never post a pic or my 08 vert. I mean it has like over 120K miles on it and resides in the driveway getting sunned and rained on and even snowed on recently...
