If you don't want to see the sky go for the shade otherwise I'd go for the tint.

check the sticker on the glove box to see how it was sold by the dealer.

I like my suction cup headliner. It softens the interior sounds.

Bought my transparent top 3 years ago. Colored top has been under the bed ever since.
And this is from a guy that prefers painted hard tops.

All I've ever had is the TT. If I tried a colored top I would probably feel claustrophobic.

And I would keep looking up for the sun, clouds, moon, etc.

If you don't like the transparent top, you could always get it wrapped. Its probably a lot cheaper than buying a second top and you can always go back if you want.

I only have the transparent top. The build code sticker in the glovebox only indicates that one. Mine has a ton of micro-fine crazing, but can only be seen in bright sun, up close and from a certain angle. My bodyshop guy said he can finish it down then spray it with smoke tint and clear, with a flex additive so it won't craze again, says he's done many of them.

Mine came with a static cling liner, which has dot-matrix holes. I have never removed it, and even in FL summer the car is nice and cool but I can still see the sky.

I got mine from West Coast Corvette, like $39 + shipping.

I also have the cling sun shade and it makes a big difference.

That's a cool (hah!) idea...I never thought of that. I'm guessing you could have it wrapped for under $200, which is certainly cheaper than finding a good condition solid top.

I'm a nubee. My build sheet says "C2L" Dual Roof Package. So again I'm new does that mean like a Tee top or two piece roof. I know it's painted not Lexan. Thanks in advance

That means your car came from the factory with both removable tops, body color and clear (lexan). If you only have 1 now then the other went somewhere, sold, destroyed, who knows for sure.

Sadly greed takes over at the time of resale or trade-in, in your case the body matching top was sold outside of the car deal.... sadly it may have been damaged thru improper handling and took flight because it was not secured properly and no pre-fight. Replacements show up here all the time, if needing one for summer weather. Good luck, 👍🏿

I would also agree with this, does seem to make the ride a lot quieter

I have the color matched top as well and I have never put it in and neither did first owner

Quite honestly I kind forget about it

I ordered my C6 in 2005 with transparent top only. It was about a $750 option when you sacrificed the original painted one. Never looked back. If I was ordering one today it would bel the same way.

It is a 3M product line called Crystalline.
3M claims that all films in the Crystalline line reject 99.9 percent of UV radiation and 90 to 97 percent of infrared radiation.

I just picked up a transparent roof and will be taking it in to get the Crystaline tint on it.

I would have done it also on my car windows but on the C6 due to the large curved rear window nobody will do it because it is a thicker film.

Check the Heat Test
I wanted to get mine tinted with an IR blocking film, my tint guy would not do it. Unless the tint adhesive is specifically designed for acrylic/polycarbonate the adhesive will PERMANENTLY bond with the plastic. The roof will offgas and cause bubbles between the adhesive and tint, you wont be able to remove the adhesive, top trashed..

A ride at night with the moon out is really nice.

As far as I know, if you ordered it new with the optional trans top, then that's what you got. If you wanted a second top you would have to buy it.

To me, sitting in a 'Vette with a painted top is too much like being in a cave. Obviously, others don't see it that way.

I have this on all 4 windows. It does a great job at keeping the heat out, and if I get the transparent top, I will be having it tinted, as well.
