Default "Leave in place" jacking pucks for a GS

I am looking for a set of "leave in place" jacking pucks for my 13 GS. Every set I look at says that they will only fit base models. Anybody know where I can get a set that will fit ?
I already made a set of "hockey puck" adapters, but they are a Charlie hotel too tall for use on my lift.

I have these in my 2011 GS and they have yet to fall off, though I only drive my car 2000 miles a year.

I have the ones shown in your link and have lost two of them over a few years, so I do not recommend "leaving them in place." Now I keep them in a bag in the rear cubby and present them to the mechanic IF I REMEMBER.

All jacking pucks fit into the "T" hook slots and are universal in size to all Vettes with T hook slots. So if you ever buy a C7 they will work on that as well.

I have the same set that I have used in all 4 Vettes.

The frame for the GS and the base are exactly the same.

I installed the leave in pucks on my 13 GS over 4 years ago. When I was installing them, one felt a little loose so I put a dab of silicone on each one and they are still there.

I really like the "Leave in" lift pads. No more keeping track of the pucks or leaving a puck in and loosing it. I too used some silicone when I installed mine.

To the guys who used silicone: Did you put a dab on the spring clips themselves, or run a bead around the entire part that slips up into the frame slot? I just got a set, want them to stay in without rattling, but be removable intact should the need ever arise.

Thanks for the replies, I will try the SCP ones. Just a FYI to those that used silicone on theirs, the pucks slot into the factory "T hook" towing points. Just make sure you can get them out in case you ever need to be towed.

I have the BMW style leave in pucks in my Z06. I had to modify them a bit but they have been in there for a couple years now without an issue.

I'm also looking at "leave in place" jacking pucks for a 13 GS. It seems the BMW ones have a great reputation, but I'm having trouble finding a (non-dead) link to the exact ones that are used for Corvettes.

I found the part # on the forum and searching it at BAVauto turns up this:

https://www.bavauto.com/catalogsearc...1+71+1+960+752

There are two-- one is genuine BMW and the other is "Uro." The Uro is about half the price.

Question #1: Are these the correct BMW pucks for a Corvette?

Question #2: Are the cheaper ones OK?

Thanks.

Four years ago I simply used construction adhesive to lock my pucks in place. All weather, and miles nothing has come loose.

Either of those will work. I have an off brand myself. I used RTV to ensure that they stayed in place.

Thanks much for the info.

One reason I was particularly interested in these pucks is that it seems to be a consensus on the forum that, as opposed to other options, the BMW's require no use of any silicone, RTV, etc.

In fact, once installed, others seem to relate that they're difficult to remove. Hoping the same would be true for the cheaper ones!

Thanks again.

The ones I had in my narrow body fit just fine in my GS.

Yeah, me tool. My "leave in place" pucks are in there very tight with a dab of silicone.

On the other hand, the pucks (EVO, I think) seem to be a bit thin terms of thickness or height/drop from the frame. I've never had a problem (I do my own work) but I would like a bit more thickness as the metal pucks provide.

That's actually another question I had-- why is "a dab of silicone" so effective in keeping the pucks in "very tight?"

From what I've read about these pucks, many of the ones that come from Corvette specialty places are loose enough to rattle, and thus prone to falling out. I've read about the "dab of silicone" fix, but that was hard for me to understand. Silicone sealants are not all that strong in general and tend to age badly over time-- so how could a "dab" be so effective at keeping loose pucks tight? Especially over time?

Then I found others discussing the BMW pucks and they seemed to indicate that they fit so tightly that they neither rattle nor fall out-- no silicone necessary. In fact, some say they are so tight they are difficult to remove even when you want to take them off. This seemed better to me than relying on dabs of silicone.

But now, in this thread, it's said again that just a "dab" will keep them in "very tight." What am I missing?

I had to really coat my BMW style leave ins with RTV for them to stay. I also had to modify them a bit to conform to the underside of the car. The Z06 undersides are different in some way. There is no way that I could have installed them the way they came.

To add to the dab of RTV holding them tightly in place I find that to be a myth. They typically just rattle. The RTV will stop the rattling. Unless one of the tabs were broken I do not see how they could just fall out.

The BMW pucks I use are from a 2002 330i ~ oblong with a couple of 'claws' on the back. Slotted in, twist 45º, and it locks in place tight.
Check 'BMW pads' on eBay ~ they have a locking pin that spreads the claws. Didn't notice these on mine.
