POS Trim Piece
2012 GS CE. Both of my trim pieces around the button on back of the headrest are broken. It is frustrating that on such a beautiful car Chevy decided to put a cheap piece of plastic there. I don't even know what to call it. I assume that I am not the only person pissy about this. Does anyone make a better after market piece? I'm not having much luck.

Have you checked with Apsis to see if they make a carbon fiber version?

I had them break as well. They’re $54 each from online parts retailers which is almost as ridiculous as the $83 ashtray insert piece.
I searched for people parting out cars and was able to pick up some replacements for $10 ea, but even one of those broke trying to install it. I used JB Weld to put the broken tab back on & was finally able to get both pieces to stay put. Thankfully my ‘11 Z06 doesn’t have those pieces.

That is horrible! Maybe just go to the dealer and purchase a replacement part.

It's much more common in the truck/suv world where lots of miles are put on the vehicles. With a lot of the cars here being secondary vehicles, it may not be a common Corvette issue. But it is a common LS engine issue. A quick google search for "Oil pressure gauge maxed out", or "0 oil pressure" will yield a lot of results spanning the last 15 years.
At least on the trucks you can get to the sensor from the back of the engine. In the corvette you have to remove the intake manifold.

Cut a hole in the fiberglass below the cover under the wipers. Still a pain.
