Matching Inferno Orange on aftermarket parts
Anyone have parts replaced or add parts (spoilers, etc.) on an Inferno Orange car. Any issues matching the color? I'm looking to purchase the ZR1 extended rear spoiler for my GS, and I can purchase it primed & prepped or painted for about an additional $450 which seems high. I contacted a shop that painted a new hood for my wife's '16 Jeep Wrangler & also repaired my '16 Mitsubishi Outlander when my wife was rear ended and they quoted me $150 to paint the spoiler. They did caution though that they were not sure how well they could match the Inferno Orange. They did an outstanding job matching the Granite Crystal Metallic on my wife's Jeep, but it took three attempts and the reps/techs from PPG to match the silver on my Outlander. One plus is they warranty the paint work for as long as own the vehicle, and I'm not sure what type of warranty will come with the pre-painted spoiler. Opinions/Advice? Thanks in advance.

if you are going to have your paint shop paint the spoiler. Give them your fuel filler cover more match.

For some reason I can not edit the above post but what it should say is RPI sells the zr1 spoiler painted for 380, plus forum members get 10% off.
Hope this helps .

Matching the paint is in the eye of the beholder. If you're the type of guy that looks at non-factory painted part and says 'oh its orange and shiny' like my car, you'll be good. If you're pretty ****, then sorry to say it will never, ever be a perfect match. In certain lights, you will always see a mismatch. This is not all doom and gloom, and only sometimes will you see the mismatch - its just the nature of the beast. If they are any good, they'll do a few spray outs to get the best match possible.

Darker metallic would be even more difficult in my opinion. The flake in the paint needs to also match how the factory laid it down. If they did a great job on that, they should be fine with a lighter, non metallic color.

Yeah I don’t really like carbon fiber (I know I’m crazy) & the splitter & side skirts I’ve added are gloss black. My vision is to keep everything body-colored. I’ve had a pic saved of this car below for a few years as I was searching for my Inferno Orange - it’s been my muse
