Interesting. I've found my 2011 A-6
works much better than my 2006. 3 pulls will drop 5-2 with a single blip. 4-1 does blip twice.

I have never mastered it try as I may. Im successful maybe once in twenty times. I like to try coming off the expressway but 9 out of 10 times traffic prevents it

Senna's heel and toe technique was not nearly as impressive as him controlling the car with the throttle foot.

if you can find a cloverleaf it makes for a great practice session.

very cold this morning and the transmission was quite stiff. Toe-heeling was required to keep from grinding gears.

Heel & toe is a bit of a misnomer, if you look at that Senna video he is braking with the left side of his foot and rolling his foot to hit the gas with the right side of his foot, not the heel. That is how I do it. I have very wide feet (4E) so the stock pedal spacing is perfect. I can see how people with narrower feet would want a wider gas pedal to narrow the gap. I "heel and toe" every time I down shift.

No way I would ever buy a sports car with a conventional slush box auto but I would like to try a good dual clutch automated manual trans some day. The good ones can shift much faster than any human and they never miss a shift.

Hi Dano, what year is your car? My '12 with the updated factory tune seems okay, though it has been awhile since I've been on a track. I haven't had an issue with a situation like that coming down from 140.

Some of our exits are cloverleafs...so your right on that . Unfortunately traffic prevents it. Seems like everytime Im ready to get off theres a line of trucks getting on . At this time just exiting is a problem

Size 11 shoe here. Still working on my heel-toe when I'm in the canyons, but every right hand turn on the streets is just another chance to get it right.
Gives me something to work towards perfecting, if nothing else.

A lot of folks say don't heal-toe on the street just DDing, but this is exactly why you should do it all the time, just to get the muscle memory so you don't have to even think about it.

It takes lots of practice. I've been heel/toeing for over 35 years with different makes/models of cars.
Once you get good at it, it will be second nature to you.

I rev match everytime. Don't always heal and toe around town as the pedal placement is not ideal. If I get different pedals on the car, yes I will heal and toe every time. Manuals are so much more fun to drive.

just do it on a normal intersection 90 degree turn.

Driving in 4th, brake, heel-toe, downshift to 2nd and turn. Hit the gas on the apex.
