Looking for my 1st C6. What do you think?
Hello everyone. I just got rid of my C4. Now im looking for a C6. I found this one and I was hoping for some feedback. The price def does seem high. What do you think would be a fair offer?
Thanks!

It's an automatic 2012 corvette coupe with approximately 30k miles.
I don't see the attraction to over paying 10 grand ..
At best I wouldn't even entertain that low mileage automatic non sport model.
Mileage means nothing to a corvette. Why spend the extra money for a low mileage example.
Find a corvette with double the mileage and pay 20 grand.
I'm a guy with literally quadruple the mileage and these cars require oil, gas and tires...
To spend 32 grand is ridiculous.
You can buy a brand new 2017 corvette for another 12 grand...why buy a 6 th gen when for 12 grand more you can buy a 7 gen.
If your buying pre owned to save money then buy a preowned example.
Personally don't like non z51 models or automatics...but I've seen mint condition higher mileage examples got for under 20 grand...
Spending more money that 20 grand on a mildly higher example makes the most sense...when buying used..
Hell if I were ever to buy a preowned c6? I'd definitely go for a higher mileage example..
I'm not selling my corvette but it's mint, never breaks..and I'd be lucky to get 16 or 17 grand...
You're at almost double because it's a garage queen with nonsensical useless options that mean nothing...after 6 months..
Search the preowned portion of this site for a month...watch what the sales actually transact at...
Then make offers based on reality.
I wouldn't even make an offer on that car...
I happen to admire the torch red seats but it's a dog in the market place..
The automatic transmission?
The non sporting option? Another demerit...
The front license plate holder? Sure hope it's not screwed into the nose...
Bottom line 23 grand I see all id offer if I even did offer which I wouldn't..
For anywhere near that price at least get a grand sport model that has the wide body and is more sought after...
You'll find out as a corvette owner that the grand sport or z06 in excellent shape with higher mileage..is barely worth 30 grand these days..
Low mileage is a scam that saves you nothing over time...unless your going to park the thing in your garage and stare at the car..
Buy one that's got more miles..and pay 10 grand less..
Forget the dealer unless you need their financing....and even then..buy privately...get your own financing...
That's my opinion....
If you prefer the narrow body and want to spend in the 30s..buy a preowned c7 privately because that's what the dealers are offering..
Dealer probably paid 17500 for that car in trade tops or raised the price of the car being purchased to give the guy who traded it the illusion he got more for his base model non z51 to close the deal..
If you have to make an offer...go down..offer 24 grand and let them lift you to 25 or 26 and even then I think low mileage corvettes are over priced..

2022 C6 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
The 4 previous owners would be a disqualifier for me.
A lot of people are going to tell you you can get a good used C6 for 20K, well good luck with that. I do think that car is overpriced considering it is pretty basic. In my area it would still be listed for about that same $$ at a dealer and if it were a GS they would want upper 30's. Not saying they would get that but they would try.
Keep looking.

I will agree that those of you saying find a C6 for 20 grand have not checked out a lot of used C6's. They all look great in pictures but in person a lot of them are pure junk. I saw a bunch when I purchased mine and a lot had misaligned body panels, horrible odors, incorrectly done modifications, curb rash everywhere, cracked rockers, etc. All of these cars were MINT in pictures.

Unless they'll wheel and deal, I'd move on.

"In honor of jpee"
Carfax (may be me), and what I consider a slightly higher price and I just have to wonder. Plus, red/red is loud to me.
IDK if you can find a $44K C7, but they may be out there. My suggestion: don't jump. This one is ok, but there are others. I, too, am not so sure about a 4-owner car altho at least a couple seem to be dealers. Too many flags for me.
My mo is very low mileage, price I really like, and CPO. Has worked well for me (Chev's CPO program may not be as good as others that I've had tho).

This one is in San Anotnio but free transfer to Austin. Couple years older with a few more miles but slap on a Maxcare warranty with the price difference and you're golden.

Bonus: It doesn't have that terrible red interior.

Price doesn't seem that great, base C6 with next owner being #5. Someone owned it for 8k or so, everyone else a few k tops.
It is always hard to give a good price. A recent 06 owner received $19k from his insurance company for his totaled C6 (not considered totaled when they valued it). Another 05 was purchased for $16k just recently. My 13 GS 4LT was $31.5k in November. It required some work and new tires with 46k miles but that was about $2k worth of work.
Keep looking around, this price does seem to be a dream price. Red and red seems to be a bit much. Looks like aftermarket NAV with NPP, no F55. I can see a dealer asking that much though. Dealers like to inflate their prices unless they are buying it from you then that car would be a $20-22k car.

The way I look at it is, these things are toys and I want what I want in terms of color and options. I looked for a long time before pulling the trigger, but found my dream Vette. Mine's a Victory red '08 base LT2 6MT w/transparent top, paid $26K a year ago w/24K one-owner miles and 5 years of Maxcare warranty. I could probably have found something cheaper but every time I look at it or drive it I'm glad I didn't compromise for a few thou. YMMV.

Overpriced imo, but whatever you do test drive the car. When I was in the market a couple years ago for a Grandsport, Capitol had one with around 20,000 miles on it but it was pure junk. Salesman was trying to tell me all of the squeaking and noises the car was making was due to the tires. ( yea right ) OP take your time.

I bought mine on Car Gurus.
There are lots of Corvettes that are cream puff 3rd car for pleasure driving. Just like there are 'vettes that have the snot driven out of them. It's usually one or the other.
Look around, there are plenty. The prices are coming down. Condition is more important than mileage alone.

There was a saying I took to heart when I was looking for my c6. It's something along the lines of, a cheap corvette is expensive. I know I paid a premium for mine but after the headache of buying a cheap C5 I was done with anything that required the slightest bit of work. I'm a bit ocd to the point that I had factored in a complete paint job into most of the ones I looked at as I hate door edges that are missing paint, curb scrapes etc. I saw 2013's with low miles in roughass shape to a flawless 08 without a mark on it that was xpel covered to the **** and over serviced by the dealer (eg. All fluids changed every other year at the minimum). Single owner cars were obviously the ones in better shape. Although it did take me a while to find, they do exist. I ended buying the 08 Good luck with the hunt.
