1LT upgrade to 3LT
I have a 2011 ZR! base 1 LT model and I was not satisfied so I made the following additions.
1- Homelink
2. Navigation
3. Bose speaker's and Amp. and Bose door panels " sorry Bose haters"
4. Driver memory, heated and lumbar seat.
5. Passenger memory, heated and lumbar seat.
6. Telescopic steering column.
7. Auxiliary and USB jacks.
Items needed - Shop manual and 3LT used wiring harness and of course all the other added parts.

I actually went from a 3LT car to a 1LT car...
The only thing I miss from your list is the BOSE, everything else I can gladly live without. Many people say the BOSE sounds just as bad as a regular NON BOSE car but that is 100% not true. I'm working on upgrading the stereo as we speak. Bose sounds great when compared to a base model and just sounds deeper for a better experience.

Awesome! I've got a 2LT and the only thing I'd like more is driver's memory, but I inquired and it sounded like an expensive PITA to add it. As I keep my seat all the way down, I just need memory for the fore-aft adjustment so I made a little scribe line on the plastic door sill to line up the tip of the recliner handle. Old school Glad to hear it's possible to add memory though, maybe someday I will.

Race Car Tech
When I was looking for my C6, I would not settle for anything but a 3LT, because I wanted all the bells and whistles (Road trip car)
Even if I don't use some functions, it's there if I ever want to use it.
It's similar to building a garage. If you build it too small, then you have to add an addition down the road.
Good Job on the upgrade

I'm content with my 1LT. Memory seats - I'm the only driver, so the seat doesn't move. Heated seats - I don't drive the car when it's cold. Navigation - I use my phone. Bose - eh, I've had it in other GM cars and it is not that great. The stock stereo is not that bad for now. I'll upgrade it to a touch screen (non-nav) & add a back-up camera at some point. I would like HUD though and may add that at some point.

Is HUD something you can add to a 1LT? I just got a 1LT and the only thing that really annoys me is the stock speakers are awful. Adding HUD would be a pretty cool addition though.

From what I've read around here the kit is ~$400 & there are instructions in one of the forums on how to install it.

Personally, I think this makes it safer to drive. I really like this feature.

I have a 3LT and love most of it, but:
- Memory seats? I'm the only driver here too
- Heated seats? Dumb, never use them
- No nav, I use my eyes
- Bose, I listen to talk radio, they sound fine. Listen to CDs once in a while, still sounds fine
- BUT I LOVE MY HUD!

First off...congratulations. If that is what you want then by all means you should do it.
However, I had a Mercedes cls550 that did everything but wipe my hind end for me. One thing or another seemed to break or malfunction almost weekly. I prefer the stripped down simplicity of my 1lt. To each his...or her...own.

I had no clue there was a base ZR1. It should be fully loaded for that price. I had zero interest in a 3LT car. I couldn’t justify spending $6k on the Bose junk GM provides. Don’t car for HUD either so the heated seats were not worth that kind of money.

Anyone over 6' tall will wish they had 3LT so you get the telescoping steering wheel. The 1 and 2LT's were dealbreakers for me for this reason only.
