Take them apart and clean the contacts inside. Easy repair that will take less than 15 minutes per side and your door will open like new. Use contact cleaner which is available at any auto parts or hardware store

Clean with 90% alcohol and Q-Tips.Do NOT buff the copper coating off.Copper is a good conductor.

That video has several issues but the worst is using a Dermel with a wire brush. DO NOT DO THAT!!! It would be easy to destroy the printed circuit board. Just use a Q-Tip or soft cloth and a contact cleaner like alcohol. When the copper is copper colored and not black, STOP! It doesn't have to be perfect. There are a lot of contacts and only one has to make contact for the door to open.

New ones about $11 from local dealer. Both sides are the same. This is an extremely easy, five-minute installation job. Takes less time than cleaning the old ones.

There is another video that shows this guy using a scuff pad to remove the copper and then using a polish to make it shine like chrome...
