Default Will a C6 base coupe targa top fit a Grand Sport?

I have a 2012 Grand Sport and I am looking to purchase a transparent top BUT I don't know if only certain tops will fit my Grand Sport.

Anyone know? I'm sure you guys do!

Thanks in advance!

They are interchangeable from 2005-2013

Thanks for the reply!

I assume the C6 transparent top is lighter than the solid top for my Grand Sport, true? My C5 coupe transparent top was a lot lighter than the solid top.

I could be wrong, but I think I remember seeing somewhere that the tops are within a pound of each other

Wow, you are correct!
After seeing your reply, I searched and found an old Post stating that a painted C6 targa top weighs 20.9 and the transparent top weighs 20.22.

No point buying one then. I have a healing torn bicep muscle and I wanted to lighten the load if possible.

Thanks everyone!

When lifting the two it sure seems like a lot bigger difference than .7 pounds.

If money is no object, this weighs only 7.8 lbs.

From previous reading, I'm thinking the solid top was maybe 10 pounds heavier . . . ?

Hopefully someone here will know for sure.

The solid top sure feels 10# heavier. If I remember, I'll weigh both tops tomorrow. Hard to believe they are within 1# of each other

The tinted one sure seems a lot lighter!! I kept the tinted one from my 08 coupe and it fits my 12 GS. It is on for the winter right now!

For us older guys, the clear tops just end up with the bald spots on top of our heads burnt to a crisp after a few hours of driving in the sun, so even with a clear roofs, still leave the bottom sun block cover in place full time instead.

So if we really want so sun, then is just too easy to put a hat on, pull the solid roof, and put it in the hatch.

Interesting.

I've not gotten sunburned on the top of my head with the clear top on. Maybe I should check . . . ?

I do carry a hat in the car for use when the top is off though.

Wouldn't want one if it was free, living in a sun baked region, no thanks. We have a sunroof in our Camry that has been opened, well, never, but that's just me

I love my clear top and wouldn't want a solid top even if you paid me to take yours.

Same here. I lived in a brutal heat city too and it has never bothered me.

I go back and forth between the two tops. Painted in the heat and the clear top on cold days. I have a rack in the garage to hold the spare top so switching them out is a snap.
