Another post with track numbers...

I took the Corvette up to a no prep test and tune at Zmax Dragway.

This is the first time that Zmax was open for the public this year. For the street tire guys - the 2 left lanes where not prepped at all.

The car spun through first and second - and I could not hook up at all.

The car ran terrible times on street tires. Next time I am going to get the drag radials mounted - and run on the prepped lanes.

To view all of runs - please watch the video below:

To counteract the spinning through 1st and Second - I decided to buy a set of drag radials and wheels.

I test fit a front C6 Z06 wheel on the back of the SS and the Corvette.

The wheel is 18x9.5 and is a 5 x 4.75 bolt pattern.

I plan on running a set of 305/35/18 Mickey Thompson ET Street drag radials in the back.

For my test fit please watch my video below:

I finally got the Mickey Thompson Drag Radials installed on the C6 Z06 front wheel.

I test fit the wheels - and the clear both the SS and the Corvette with no major issue.

The 305's stick out of the back of the SS a good bit - but they fit under the Corvette with no issue.

The 305 is a bit large for the SS and a bit undersized for the Corvette - but this was the comprise that I have to deal with to fit on set of drag wheels/tires on 2 cars.

Parts Used:
Mickey Thompson 305 35 18 - http://amzn.to/2ufcit1
C6 Z06 Front Wheels 18x9.5

I took the Corvette out onto the Road course/Roval at Charlotte Motor Speedway!

This was a charity event supporting the Speedway Childrens Charity - and they had the road course open. For $25 - you got 3 laps around the road course.

For the first section - I drove my Corvette.

For the second session - I rode along in my friends SS.

Please watch the full video below:

Where almost done catching up everyone!

I took the Corvette back to Zmax Dragway for a night of Test and Tune.

I mounted the drag wheels and tires. By the end of the night, I dropped over a full second in the quarter - and I got my fastest time ever!

My best run of the night was a 12.4 @ 122!

Thanks!

I spent a week in Central Pennsylvania - and we went to Corvettes at Carlisle, the Hershey Tour, and visited the Yuengling Brewery in Pottsville PA.

This is coverage from Thursday at Corvettes at Carlisle.

We are finally caught up to the current on-going build series!

I am calling this V3.0 - Why? Because I can.... LOL.

Version 1.0 - N/A Build with CNC LS3 heads, LS3 intake, Kooks Headers, LS9 cam - made 450 RWHP.

Version 2.0 - Boost build - LS7 clutch, Z06 fuel pump, E-Force Supercharger, 1000 cc injectors, 3.0" pulley, Edelbrock Upgraded Tensioner - made 580 RWHP.

With Version 3.0 - we are going to start off with suspension mods.

To make my rear Pfadt Coilovers adjustable - I purchased a set of extenders to modify and work with the coilovers I already have.

I bought a set of universal adjusters that I thought would bolt on to my Pfadt Racing coilovers.

After initially looking at the adjusters - and my coilovers - I had to figure out how to make them work.

In the video below - I show you what you need to modify to get these to work on your Corvette.

Tools / Parts Used:

Tap and Die Set: http://amzn.to/2kL0NZn
#30 Drill bit: http://amzn.to/2zlueEu
Set Screw: http://amzn.to/2z62TFp

The install went pretty seemless - I had to remove the coilovers from the car, install the new adjusters, install the coiloivers and slip the adjuster ***** back onto the adjuster.

The next part of the build is the fuel source.

On pump gas the car made 580 rwhp - but I wanted more.

I did a lot of research - I looked into meth, E85, or some combination of both.

I decided to go with E85 - while it is not readily available here - there are a few stations within a 30 minute drive that do carry it.

To get around having to rely on those few stations - I dediced to go with an E85 flex fuel sensor.

I worked with David Steck from DSX Tuning to get a custom sensor setup since my fuel rails where not OEM - and I had an E-Force that came with its own firewall to fuel rail supply line.

In the video below - I install a Flex Fuel sensor on my 2005 Chevy Corvette.

Tools Used:
Fuel Line Quick Disconnect Tool: http://amzn.to/2zDRf9h

David provided the wiring instructions for the sensor.

In this video below - I wire up the Flex Fuel Sensor that we swapped in last week.

I show you how to run the wire - remove the harness from the pcm - and what pin needs to be added to the stock computer.

Parts/Tools Used:
1/4" Wire Loom: http://amzn.to/2htLe3P
Duplicolor Rustbarrier Paint: http://amzn.to/2APA3uz
Panel Clip Pliers: http://amzn.to/2hBGBZa
Push Pin Pliers: http://amzn.to/2yJ1Dsd

Next part of Version 3.0 - is going to be the fuel system.

Back during Version 2 - I had to drop both tanks and install a Z06 pump - and I had a hell of a time with that project.

I've vowed to never have to do that again - so I decided to go with an ECS style external pump setup.

Schpenxel - a member here - has a very good documented thread about his setup - so I reached out to him for some information - and I put together an external setup using a DeatschWerks fuel pump.

To start off with my install - I installed the Hobbs Switch into the Edelbrock Supercharger - as well as start on the wiring of the external fuel pump system that I will be running.

Link to CorvetteForum Wiring Harness Thread:

Tools / Parts Used:
Weatherpack Crimper: http://amzn.to/2jiv918
Weatherpack Connector: http://amzn.to/2iIboka
DeatschWerks Fuel Pump: http://amzn.to/2iHUMJw
Bosch 5 Pin Relay: http://amzn.to/2hLwqOe

To continue with the fuel system - I mounted the fuel pump on the rear frame rail.

I needed another fuel pump to provided the additional fuel requirement that the Corvette will need when running E85.

To continue the build - you guys might be wondering why I need the bigger pump.

Well the Z06 pump would probably work on a N/A application - but it simply wont flow enough for E85 + Boost.

Speaking of boost - since we had the car apart - why not add more!

I installed a smaller supercharger pulley and a larger idler pulley on the C6 - in this I go over how to install both.

Parts/Tools used:
Edelbrock Upgraded Tensioner: http://amzn.to/2jm02CM
Edelbrock 3" Pulley: http://amzn.to/2kqNe1v
102.5" Belt: http://amzn.to/2krdtoo

To complete the fuel system - we have to connect the fuel pump above to the fuel tank - and to the fuel feed lines.

I used -8 PTFE Hose for the fuel system - while this hose is a bit harder to setup - I won't have the gas vapor smell that happens with traditional stainless braided rubber hose - plus E85 won't break down this hose type.

In my Corvettes at Carlisle video - I mentioned that I was looking specifically for one part but never found it.

The part that I was looking for was a ZR1 hood.

A buddy of mine bought one of those hoods and put it on his Vette - and I thought it looked awesome.

So to help with aero and under hood ventilation - I picked up a ZR1 hood and an ACS vented hood insert.

Also the ZR1 hood is made out of Carbon Fiber and is 1/3 the weight of the factory hood - so dropping some weight up front can't hurt either.

Its finally dyno time!

How much Horsepower did the Corvette end up making?

Find out in the video!

Car was tuned at PCM of NC - http://www.pcmofnc.com/
