BP 93 octane, mainly because it is convenient and a busy station (the latter meaning they get fresh gas delivery often).

Any top tier 93 octane is OK otherwise.

93 from BP (still says Amoco on the pump) or 93 from Chevron in my old C4 and now my C6. I'm also contemplating using this as an additive to fight the ethanol problems (water in tank). I used it in my C4 and also my '01 Trans Am (LS1).

Do any of you ad any additive's to your fuel like octane booster?

Especially those who drive ZO6 and ZR1's
All first tier brands with Shell or Chevon first.

I am surprised I thought most of you would be a little more picky. Unfortunately I live in Liberal *** California and 91 octane is the highest available. I buy my fuel at Chevron mainly because its top tier and I buy my groceries from Safeway and get points toward fuel discounts at Chevron.

As mentioned in your thread on this subject, this is a waste of money in modern cars, and anything "Lucas" is a waste of money to begin with.

I choose gas stations that are frequented by consumers to make sure the fuel is fresh. I try to stay to top tier gas stations as I'm tuned for 93.

Mostly Costco. Consumer Reports latest gas ratings put it as the top gas. The most detergents of any at 93 Octane. I was also talking to the manager at ours as I was asking about how much gas they turn, because the truck seems to be there all the time. He told me they take deliveries, 3-4 truckloads, every day...tells you it is fresh gas and no water!

On top of all of this, it is typically $.20 a gallon cheaper and when using your Costco card to pay for it, you get another 3% back in rebates.

Every single time I filled up my car at Costco it would not run right. It may be just my local one though.

I prefer Shell, and you can get a Fuel Rewards card to take .05 cents/gallon off the price.

Shell because I know every Shell station has 93 (tuned for 93). Plus the free Fuel Rewards are nice.

BP because it's the easiest place to find 93 octane near me.

Last time I checked neither my local Costco or Shell stations carried 93.

I usually use Citgo (Top Tier) either 91 or 93 Octane...........I usually fill up at 1/2 tank intervals, so if the last fill was 91, I'll top off with 93, and vise-versa..........

I've also run on a tank of 89 a few times on the street, with no issues...........

Re: additives: It's my understanding that when Ethenol was added by the refineries, that water absorbing additives like "Dry Gas" are no longer needed...........Agree?

I don't use performance additives at all.......But I do add a bottle of Techron once a season just as a cleaner..........

I fill the tank in Nov and add Star-Tron as a stabilizer for storage.

Any gas I buy for my GS is purchased between April and November, anyway.............

Tom

Shell. 93 in the vette and the 911, diesel in the MB. Six fillups per quarter keeps me enrolled in Fuel Rewards (5 cents off per gallon), which makes it the same price as Costco, but that's 5 miles away and Shell is only 1 mile.
