I am glad you have got a good deal with Hagerty on your insurance but I crossed that bridge already. When she gave me the quote she had the same info as the others and could not explain the much higher premium. At the moment I am with Am. Coll. but had just added another car that is for sale after sale will switch to Grundy.BTW had a claim with A.C. and they were great to deal with.

I had Hagerty for my 72 Corvette and when I went to purchase my 2011 I called them before I bought it and told Hagerty of my intention. They look at the photo and all the information, and told me it would be not problem to insure the 2011. I went to the dealer on the following Monday and signed the papers for the car, called Hagerty to verify the insurance and we started all over again. They wanted another picture of the car and said they needed the underwriter to approve the insurance. We went back and forth on the quality of the picture, and finally the underwriter said they could not approve the insurance for the 2011, because it was the newest car in my family and it could be used as a daily driver. I made enough noise and they finally approved it. This was in the summer of 2014. The premium for tne 72 and the 2011 was $1200/ year. I got made and called NCM and the were happy to have my business and the premium was $750. Never looked back and very happy with Adam and his team at NCM

I use Hagerty for my old Mopars but use Progressive for my 2012 base coupe. I average 15k miles a year on it and have liability at 250/500/100 and collision and comp with 500 deductible. Also have towing and transportation coverage. Total cost per year is 530.

Neither Hagerty or Grundy will allow any type errand driving and you will have mileage restrictions. I’ve had both but switched to NCM years ago.

I'm not sure where you got your information but I've had Hagerty's for 10 years. They have no idea what the odometer reading is on my vehicles (eight). Also, my cars are listed as "pleasure driving" and that includes going to dinner or just going for a drive. If I run an errand while I'm out I'm covered; if someone backs into the car parked at Lowe's I'm covered; if my grandson takes the car to the prom and gets rearended I'm covered. I know because one of those actually happened and I asked those specific questions when I signed up.

Grundy restrictions are no racing, not driving it to work or school( I’m retired) no errands, back up or primary car. I can use it to go to a restaurant. $300,000 for bodily injury and property damage liability also $300,000 for uninsured motorists, bodily injury.
Zero deductible, towing $250, trip interruption $600 and spare parts $500.
They said no mileage penality but I don’t drive it that much as I have 3 cars. It should work for me but if I find myself wanting less restrictions then I may switch to NCM.
Thanks to all for your comments.

My information comes from both companies when they insured my car. Both wanted to know the mileage with a picture to prove said mileage. There is no doubt both stated that any errands are not allowed. I had both companies and I know their restrictions. I don’t think you know either as well as you think you do
