Shift points for 05 C6 6 speed ?
Hello everybody......This is my 1st post on the C6 forum. I recently got an 05 conv/6 speed in Velocity Yellow with 20k miles. My question is at what RPM do you shift for each gear and at what speed do you put it in 6th for highway driving ? I don't want to lug the motor, but at the same time I don't want to overwind either, so where are the sweet spots for shifting ?.........Thanks in advance, Steve

2-3kish for most gears.
When going from 5th to 6th I'm guessing around 60mph if I know it is going to be a longer stretch of road. If it is still a surface street with lights and such I'll keep it in 5th.
You have 400lb/ft of toque. You won't lug the engine much unless your trying to go full throttle from under 1k rpm.

6400 RPM. I don't need to shift as often, thus saving the clutch.

Thanks for the replies........My last Sportscar was a Boxster S so I wouldn't shift till at least 4k. The Vette certainly isn't as high revving, but has a lot more torque. I have been shifting from 1-2 to bypass that 1-4 thing, but several times from a stop I have been in 3rd instead of 1st. I guess I'm still getting used to the shifter.
