Default Anyone know this car?

Any information is greatly appreciated! It has spent time in New Orleans, Texas and is now in OKC. With the wheels and performance work, I would imagine it was enthusiast owned. Thanks!

It's been through to confirm it hasn't had flood damage. It's been in OKC for at least 2 years from what I know, so maybe a tornado but no flood

Ahh...tornado...well, that's not so bad.

Only kidding, of course. Under all the dirt might be one heckuva deal. If it's been sitting for quite awhile, it means nobody is using it, or caring for it, or needs it. Might be able to drive a great deal on that one.

haha yeah, I'm probably going to go with a PPI. It has been cammed, head work, intake and exhaust, so that could be a good or bad thing without knowing the previous owner.

Any idea as to why it's been sitting for 10 weeks at that location? ... Is that where cars going to auction are stored?

Who owns the car? .... Repossessed car or something like that?

.

It just hasn't moved, guy owns a big wholesale lot and hasn't found a buyer.

Ok ...

You would think that the owner would clean the car up a little, and then perhaps he could get alot more than wholesale price for his C6.

Did the owner just buy it at an auction, and now wants to wholesale the car out to somebody (flip it)?

He's not the clean them up and sell guy, single man operation with hundreds of cars. And yes, he is the flipper, usually selling to car lots.

Sorry for all the questions, but this thread is interesting just because of the strange history of this C6.

You state that you don't know anything about the previous owner ... I would think that the guy that has the car now (the car flipper) might know something from when he bought the car .... Of course, if the car was a repo and was bought at an auction by the guy that has it now, I guess he would know nothing at all about the previous owner or any history on the car.

Seems like buying this C6 might be a big 'crap shoot'.

No worries, it is odd, and the guy is going to try and track down the last owner through a friend at the bank it was financed through, but so far no luck. And yeah, a total crap shoot. It was a shot in the dark that someone knew the car here. 3 owners, higher miles, no service records and mods all tell me to stay away lol

Good luck on this ... but if the price is right ....

So, does this car flipper that has this C6 buy it from an auction?

Clean CarFax?

Not sure exactly where he bought it, I think bank repo.

And yeah, clean Carfax, but no service records which scares me most. But I would have the compression checked and PPI before buying.

Take the VIN down to the local Chevy and have the run it for the warranty service records. Who knows, they might even be able to pull up enough info to find the owner. Have you looked in the owners manual if there is one? Sometimes people put their info in there.

With all the work done on that car, that stuff won't show up on a Carfax or anything. You're going to have to weigh whether or not a cheap price is worth paying for a whole lot of unknown and possibly expense down the road. I think I'd walk away from that one.
That is, unless you're a mechanic and can drive it and check it out for all known issues and know what to look for and how to fix it.

Yeah, unfortunately no manuals. I am planning on taking it in to Chevy for full diagnostic if it comes down to the price being right.

I'm mechanically inclined, and have no worries on fixing issues. I've just been in cars that every weekend I'm spending time under the hood instead of out enjoying my time away from the work week. But yes, you are exactly right, Carfax is of very little good- even wrecks are dependent on if they are reported or not. Was hoping that someone knew the car and could point me in the right direction. Last time I tried to get info from Chevy, I could only get owner info with owner consent, which makes sense. I wouldn't want them giving my information out to some random person, no matter the circumstance. But yeah with all that is done to it, I'm not wanting to blindly pull the trigger (at any price) without at least knowing the quality of the work...could end up costing me a LOT of money, and I'm not completely sold on the color anyways, as a Gamecock, orange is pretty low on the list for color choice lol.
