As one of thousands of C6 owners who have been affected by this airbag connector defect, about all I can do now is ask the OP "Where the hell has this SB been?" This is the first I've seen it, and it's now more than a year past the mileage expiration for my car.

For years we've been complaining about the air bag indicator light randomly appearing on the dashboard. It didn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that when that light was on, no air bags would deploy. Both driver and passenger were potentially in mortal danger should there be a wreck. In every case, GM would have lost $M in liability. But it was never publicised, and my car has never been repaired.

What does an original owner of a 2007 C6 with 127,000 miles and a recurring air bag warning light do?

I'd always thought there was no expiration on a safety related recall? I remember my 88 c4 had a seat belt recall that was honored in 2004.

Very easy to fix it yourself. Zip tie the two halves if the connector together tight and zip tie it up on the seat away from the carpet so it does not drag on the carpet if using the easy out or adjusting the sear back and forth for two drivers. That is how fixed mine. My car has never been to the dealer and it is going to stay that way.

Why the F do they come out with a SB (or whatever the hell they call it) for 2005-2013 vehicles and then limit it to 10 years, already they are excluding 2005 through 2007 cars??? I have an '05 with 34K miles on it, I sure as hell should be covered!!!

As noted above, zip tie the connector under the seat and the problem is solved. Fix it at home before your car even warms up. No need for a trip to the dealer.

Does GM have your current address? I received a letter in 2016 about this. I also noticed this special coverage under the warranty tracker on the Chevy owner website - mychevrolet.com - which shows which warranties are still in effect for my vehicle and lists any special coverages that apply - including this one.

Did you have to take the seats loose or where you able to do this with them in place ?

Just use the adjuster switch and raise the seat up as far as it will go and you'll have plenty of room to access the connector.
