I don't know what pucks you have been looking at, but the standard ones used by most vette owners have zero ground clearance issues.

Good luck with the rectangle ones. Let us know how they work, okay?

What I did with my '08, and will do with my '12. Bought a set of 4 pucks with eyebolts ($23). Applied sealant/adhesive to the surface that contacts the puck location. Installed them, then tightened the eyebolts in the slots by turning the pucks as far as possible by hand. In place, permanently. Virtually invisible without getting down and looking at the rail. Certainly no ground clearance problems, and I don't have to carry them around with me in the event the car has to go on a lift.

If any shop is going to work on my car, I tell them to be sure and use the pucks for their lift.

Translation: Jacking pucks are not needed and by asking about them, the OP (and anyone else) must be crazy for wanting them.

Then you got called on the carpet because....
1) GM does offer pucks
2) Just because you don't have a need for them, doesn't mean other people don't have a need for them

The rest of your post is self-justification.

: I called a dealer and was told that they don't sell and never have sold jacking pucks.

The only reason I can see for needing (4) separate pads that attach in the slots, is if I were to have a post lift.
I am seriously thinking of having a velvet pouch made for the block.
That other dude don't get it tho.The wood will "Crush"....Use hard oak!..

They stay in a lot better than the round ones. I'll post up pics of them once I get them put on.

mine's lowered, so it's tough to get my low-profile jack under the rear cradle with clearance for a piece of wood unless i drive the rear tires onto boards first (and impossible to reach the front cradle), so i usually just use hockey pucks on the side jacking points for simple wheel-area work.

When you slide the floor jack under the side of the car, the pucks keep jacks with a large saddle from f'ing up the rocker panel. One of the jacks I have will not work unless I want to crush the rocker panel or use a puck.....the saddle is too large.

Once again, a response that is typical of someone who polishes and cruises. All the while refusing to understand that some of us race and therefore have a need to lift the car often, at a minimum to bleed brake fluid, change brake pads, rotors, wheels, etc. in the garage/shop while prepping as well as at the track should the need arise.

Go back to polishing and enjoy your velvet bag.

I believe these pictures are of the BMW pucks the OP is referring too.
They've been on my C6 for a few years, they're tight and stay in place so the sills don't get crushed by someone having a mental lapse.

^^ you don't happen to know how much those add to the drag coefficient by keeping them installed, do you?

Don't know. I avoid being in drag when working on the car ~ I keep stepping on the hem.

If you would wear a mini-skirt, you wouldn't step on the hem, or so I've been told...
