"back in the saddle again"...yee-HAW!
Located my next Vette in Elkhart, TX, The owner only posted two picks (craigslist), and was not sure otherwise of what equipment it had, but did say it had Memory Seats. I took a leap of faith, and bought it sight unseen. I flew out at 1:00 a.m. Tuesday to pick it up. I was expecting a black exterior and interior, and a 3LT.
What I found when I got there was a 2012 100th Year Commemorative Edition base coupe, 3LT. For those not familiar, all of them were finished in a Black "Cyber" Metallic, with black wheels with factory-painted red calipers, red stripe on wheel, larger rotors (J55), FULL WIDTH SPOILER, black matte stripes, blacked out emblems with "100" on the right half, black "Louis Chevrolet 100 years" decals, Titanium interior with contrasting stitching throughhout, sueded seat middle sections, sueded steering wheel with LC center cap, AND...F55 Magnetic adjustable shocks. The only things it did not have that I would have liked are two tops, and NPP. Car had 58K on it. Paint is very good, but in bad need of a claybar, etc., and badly needs new brakes.
Before I left, I looked over our Forum Parts for Sale, and found a complete Z06 exhaust available in Amarillo, which just happened to be on my route home. Hooked up with "Gonzo" to pick that up on the way back.
Made a bit over 500 miles the first day, starting at 2:00 p.m. Picked up the full exhaust system that night in Amarillo about 8:30, found a hotel, and ended a 40-hour "no sleep" run at 11:00 p.m.. Next day (Wednesday) , I decided to shoot for the completion of the trip, if the weather held out. Fortunately, went through Flagstaff just as it was starting to snow, and got over the other side. Logged 901 miles that day when I reached home in Las Vegas.
Yes, it was worth it. I am thrilled with this beautiful car. The car is so tight and effortless to drive it is almost boring. I can't wait to get the new brakes and Z06 exhaust on. Has new Sumi tires, and all work done as scheduled. I will buy a warranty from Dennis, though, as I intend to keep this one a long time.
Comments are welcome.

Congratulations on your new car. It looks awesome and what a trip back. You say it has Titanium interior, but looks darker. I thought the Titanium seats were light gray.
Here are my seats for comparison.

I may be incorrect about that. I might be "Dark Titanium", or something else. I have not yet checked all the codes. I knew they were not the normal "titanium", which is much lighter.

Great find.............I mean stumble upon.
If you slow down a little you can cut up your story into several chapters and write a book! JK
But honestly, your story is very exciting.

All the Centennial cars had that same exterior/interior combo with either 3lt or 4lt trim package. You found yourself a real keeper . Congrats.

IDK about your car's options or what it normally came with, but the later years of C6 did have two grays, and light gray is pretty light. Still, you have what I'd guess is a pretty rare model---I don't think many were made that way. Very good find.

HAHA...made me laugh. What you probably meant to say is, "I know you are cheap...how did you do?" If that is what you meant, no offense taken. A man has to know himself best, right?
The target for me was a 3LT, '10 or later, A6, in one of 3 colors, private party seller only, clean title, fewer than 70K miles, no mods, $26K or less.
I think I got a very good deal. 58K miles, bought from a private party, for $24,700, and it hit all the marks for me.
As an added bonus, I picked up a complete Z06 exhaust, from manifolds to NPP muffs, for $400.
You can call me cheap, thrifty, budget-minded...I own them all.

I told a friend of mine about staying up for 40 hours in a stretch. He asked if I was popping 5-hour energy drinks, or massive caffeine. I told him, "No, not at all. I was too excited to be tired. I was like a 13-year-old boy in a brothel."
I still haven't really calmed down, but did play a round of golf today.
